First: create a new character and put (BAR) after your name to show that your playing by the Barbarian rules.

Rules for the Barbarian Class:

Barbarians only use normal weapons, shields, armor, and helmets.

Barbarians, being self reliant and distrustful of others handling their weaponry, repair their weapons themselves exclusively. They do not use Grizwald for repairs.

Barbarians fear magic. Because of this, they will not use magic or unique items (its evil juju magic) cast any spells because spellcasting is for sissies. They walk.

Yes, town portal is a spell.

Barbarians are superstitious. They fear shrines. They will not touch shrines, altars, or magic pools.

Barbarians are illiterate. That means they don't read. So no books or scrolls for barbarians.

Even barbarians recognize the need to use magic potions. They don't like it, but they will use them. Elixirs are another form of potions.

Playing a barbarian means you play a warrior as a warrior, with an emphasis on skill rather than objects. You don't fall back to the cowardly use of magic. You don't rely upon spells to save your butt, or magic armaments to protect you. You rely upon cold steel. A barbarian should provide the same challenge as BNM (BNM's rely entirely upon spells and avoid melee at all costs).

Barbarian Titles:
Barbarians respect the test of steel above all other accomplishments. In the words of Groo(BAR) "Man no man if carry all steel, man a man if use steel to gut enemies." With that in mind, Barbarian titles are based on actions, not the lucky find. Titles are bold and their requirements follow.

1. Barbarian: No titles.

2. Pillager: Walk levels 1-4 and walk out exit on level 5 without returning to town. Levels do not have to be cleared.

3. Vanquisher: Going toe to toe with Leoric and winning

4. Destroyer: Walking levels 5-8 and walking out exit on level 9 without returning to town (like pillager, for cats)

5. Defiler: Start at level 1 and walk through level 8. Drop one mana potion at every shrine as you clear the level. Walk up the stairs on level 9.

6. Conquerer: Running the caves in one try and exiting on foot through hell 13(like pillager for caves)

7. Ravager: Killing all the witches in hell barehanded. You may return to town.

8. Barbarian Lord: Starting on level 13 and without returning to surface killing Diablo (you don't have to kill everything)

9. Barbarian King: Full clear of the game without returing to town.

The way this works is these tasks are ranked in terms of difficulty. You assume the title of the most difficult task you have accomplished. So if Conan the Barbarian completes both the pillage task and solo kills Leoric in melee, he would be known as 'Conan the Vanquisher' since Vanquishing is more difficult than pillaging.

For tasks Defiler and above, write up a tale either in character "Conan go down in broken church to squash altars of non Crom gods...." or out of character, "I took my level 13 barbarian, Conan the Vanquisher down into the caves to go for the Defiler title..." These latter titles are more prestigous, and many of the Barbarians out there would like to know how you did it. By all means write up tales of your lower order tasks if you feel inclined.

If anyone ever completes the Barbarian King task, announce it here in Ogdens and call a meeting of the Barbarian hoarde (you pick your channel and date) to relay the tale online, and tell it live.
