Elitists

(1) They only use uniques, except for the case of amulets -- there, since there are no unique amulets in multi-player, they can use any amulet as long as it is perfect (i.e., if stars +11; if zodiac +20; etc.) (2) Since uniqes are hard to find, they are allowed to receive one at birth, and henceforth on their 5th, 10th, 15th, etc. birthday. (This is the only time I allow higher-level characters to pass to lower-level ones.) -- They of course can use all the uniques they find themselves..... (3) They may use all the unique spells (i.e., heal, town portal, stone curse, etc.). But for similar spells, they may only use the "noblest" one; i.e., nova for lightning based; elemental for fire based missiles; flame wave instead of fire wall. Both Bone Spirit and Blood Star are considerd "noble" (since the proletariat eschews them). I invented the elitists while suffering a severe case of, to put it into Freudian terms, unique-envy. I mean, look at all the other characters, they all get to use uniques -- there's that mage prancing around in Naj's Light Plate, a Thinking Cap on his head, wielding Dreamflange in one hand, and Storm Shield in the other; and that rogue over there -- in his Demonspike Coat, Royal Circlet, clutching Windforce (with Eaglehorn in his backpack -- or vice versa). And what does a well-dressed top of the line warrior wear? An aweful helm of some animal, some awesome plate of nothing, maybe and emerald shield (sounds nice but is drab); and wielding a King's one-handed-weapon of speed/haste. No fashion awards here.... Well one cure to unique-envy is denial -- bah, I never cared for those uniques anyway, wouldn't wear them at all (maybe that's where barbarians started?) Another one is to play as an elitist -- try it, it's fun! Note:
