It's great that this game is being reported so actively, and seems to be moving along at a quick turn pace, but I have very little understanding of Civ6 so I don't feel like I can comment much.

Is pillaging city state tiles legal? I vaguely remember that being a point of discussion before.

Good job busting him.

Well it looks like the players are going with Woden's rule. I rejected this because you might forgot the tile if you fail to capture. However, this has only happened once with a very bad player, so I suspect that nothing will come out of this. Capture city-states is also very good too due to no corruption system so you don't need pillage awards on top of that.

Krill is going to try and attack Archduke????????? Even if he wins he will get hammered by greenline after that.

LOL people spawned so close that Sumer should have stayed banned under these conditions. I'm sure they would bump up the map size if they do another random map.
Edit: It took whosit turn 74 to prepare so nevermind, Sumer is fine. This attack felt alot faster than it actually was because the turns went by very fast at the start of the game.

First really big moment in the game as Whosit's legion rush looks to have come up short:
Whosit was simply too unfocused with this attack, stopping to build *TWO* wonders (!) before launching his legions, even noting that he was nearly to Man At Arms tech before he attacked. That's a real shame because I think a more determined legion beeline would have run over the checked-out greenline without much trouble. It is good news for the rest of us as we get to watch a more competitive game and TheArchduke / Krill in particular are big winners from these developments.
I'm also curious to see if Chevalier will be able to play any kind of larger role after suffering from both the worst starting position in terms of land quality along with a truly absurd amount of barbarian activity. If anyone can do it in our Civ6 community, it would certainly be him.

Whosit is going to miss the Colosseum this turn.
Archduke actually has the best start in this game because Whosit was always going to get ganged up on. Isolated corner starts are great! Whosit could have played better though...
Starts ranked
1. Archduke
2. Whosit
3. Greenline
4. CMF (if you don't consider barbs part of the start, but I do)
5. Krill
6. CMF

Chevalier Mal Fet Wrote:I need to focus on not getting eaten by Whosit first, of course. The good news there is he doesn't seem to be the kind of player to commit to an objective and focus on it. He builds wonders and districts when he should build units, and the result is he's baffled by a fairly weak and somnolent Korea, for example. He could have piles more units than me, instead he has 300 more power - ie, less than 10 more units, and he has 3 fronts to monitor, I only have one.
Chevalier perfectly captures Whosit's biggest weakness as a player, trying to do too many things simultaneously and never sticking to any one plan for long. Rome had an incredible starting position on this map and two weak neighbors, he should have focused on running over one of them early in the game which would have effectively ended things. I guarantee that thrawn or Chevalier would have already eliminated someone if they had been gifted that start.
