Oh, sorry. I forget that you need to open debug mode too for log to report what really happened during generate new game in detail.
1) go to data\modding.ini and open it with notepad
2) go to line 571, you will found "ForceDebug=0", you need to change it to "ForceDebug=1" and save to enter debug mode.
3) Start the mod version 1.5.7
4) Start new game until the point of crash. after game exit send me log.txt that you found in the same folder as your caster.exe you use to run the game.
Here is the log.txt with debug on.
Thank you. Crash occur early in process of opponent wizard generation either crash tie to some value of new game generation or there is bug in my wizard generation script and world is not even generated. wizard also not yet pick any spells.
1) Please specify your start new game setting? how many opponent? size of map? scoring option? race and wizard customization?
2) Could you compressed your whole "Master of Magic Caster Windows 1.5.7" and upload for me to see?
Unfortunately the packed size of Installation dir is 877.89mb so the file size to large to upload here.
Any ideas?
for my Setup see attachments.
You could upload it to google drive, microsoft onedrive, or file sharing site like Mediafire.
Here is the link to my CoM installation on Mediafire.

Thank you very much. I have started a new game and loaded perfectly.
And thank you also for your hard work in maintaining, updating and fixing your mod.
Much appreciated.

hi.
There is no main map music. Other soundtracks such as combat music or event music are playing normaly.
I think I have the last update from seravy. Maybe I should just enjoy the silence...

I disable overland map music due to some people among my team think it is bad and not enjoyable. This is mentioned in change log in manual. You could reactivate again by copy file 13.wav, 14.wav, 15.wav
from mods/restore/music back to data/music folder overwrite one that I put in the mod if you install the mod normally.

ok thank you !
I listened to those simple tracks for hundreds of hours, but never thought that they were annoying. I just miss the gloomy one because it is always the one I used to hear when I played the old master of magic and now I'm rarely in a situation that the game is playing it. Maybe if I played on harder difficulty level it would play more often ?
(thank you for the mod by the way)

Music change based on your strength compare to your opponent, if your position is on the lower side then your music will be gloomy, if your position is the strongest, you will get more cheerful one. So, yes, higher difficulty mean ai more likely to stronger than you so gloomy one is more likely.

Nice to hear that someone else likes the main-map/overland/whatever themes in Master of Magic! It's crazy how many people don't like them. I wonder if it's because they've heard it too many times, or have just always hated it.
I think that for those people it's nice to have the option to have no overland music (like Master of Orion 1) and there are also plenty of people that would rather all music be gone but sound effects retained. Myself however, I love all the music tracks for MoM and can't imagine the game without them.
I'm certain most people enjoy Suppanuts choice to remove the main map music though.

I myself like overland music but it is lack of diversity and I think most people boring them at this point. It would be much better to have more diverse music with different situation rather than just depending on your graph position alone. Such as your based theme is based on book and retort combination as well as he or she portrait. And situational music like currently is should be move to when you are at war with anyone and how much your strength relate to opponents, etc.

That'd be fantastic. If I had more free time it's something I'd compose dozens of overland themes like that just for fun!
But as I am very tight on free time, I have too much other things to get through first. Maybe if I live to be 120 years old I'll get around to it : P
