Epic 6 - sooooo's report

Great game, sooooo. Out of curiosity, did you use your own and captured workers to build roads from your sword factories to the front, or did you just let them come as they could? Also, what kind of attacking swords to defending archers ratio did you aim for? I'm still pretty inefficient at pre-catapult warring.

Yes, the road network is really important. My 2 workers chopped a forest each, then one went onto forest-chopping duty and the other roading. The captured workers pretty much all roaded. In terms of numbers, then your average non-capital city will be defended by 2 archers, for which I like to have at least 3 swords before I attack. Maybe 4 if they are unpromoted or it's a cultural civ.

But as I said in another thread I would not reccommend stopping research and trying to take over the world with swords because it's really boring and requires little skill. I'm not going to do it any more. Nothing wrong with attacking another civ early, but if you turn research off and attack everyone then you're missing out on the best parts of civ.
