Yes, you read that title right. I am reporting on game that closed two months ago. I wasn't joking when I said I was going to start playing some of the old games if nothing new came out. I picked this first, as there was little reporting and I recalled nothing much about it.

Fun report to read, Lee! Sounds like the AI were doing all they could to keep your economy down, but way to pull through for a Space Age win.

I don't know if you've seen it or not yet, but over at CivFanatics VoiceofUnreason posted an article on the WFYABTFA mechanic. It really appears to be more of a fluid limit than past thought. But there are lots of neat tidbits to be gleaned about the mechanic, and I suggest everyone who hasn't already to read the thread.

Cool, well done! Monty had a massive amount of land to expand into this game. The WFYHBTA limit was rather low this game because of the AI personalities. Qin, Genghis, Stalin etc aren't known for their generosity.

I did the same as you this weekend - I started Adventure 2 (missed it the first time round) and may report this week.

I hope you have fun. I already have decided that Adv10 is next for me. One of the only things I remember is lots of conquest victories, but reading the game description has already convinced me to do the same. That is by far the easiest way to solve the largest army issue.

I have to say that the map was a bit big for my taste, with the Zulu you want to start hammer your neighbors in the Ancient Age, but you certainly made the most of it! I look forward to your adventure 10 nod

What I don't understand is your comment on vassal states. I don't have warlords or know much about it, but you didn't really explain why your comment.

What are the drawbacks to the vassal state option?
