Well it does not look like much is going on here for GC2. I was late to the party, so I missed any info.

Anyway I was wondering why I no longer get any event, especially pirates? I got the gold version and I played one game on the Dread Lords and got lots of pirate events, almost too many.

Then I tried Dark Avatar and thought I will turn of Mega Events. Then I went back to Dread Lords, which does not have a feature to enable or disbale events and no longer got any?

I fired up Avatar and enabled events and got none on that either? Is there a time factor involved or have I hit a bug or what is the trigger?

No idea. Don't think anyone here plays GalCiv any more. Try the GalCiv forums, would be my advice.

Hi Zed-F, well there is a long story on GC2 that prevents me form posting there. In short I spent the last 2 months with the devs trying to get the game to update. I finally got that to work and the game to play and tried to post.

I am not sure what happened, but during the registering for the forums, I some how got back to not being known. I am not going through it again, the game does not seem to be worth the effort.

I bailed on GC1 after a few weeks and that is why I was not buying it early. I have the CD's so I figure I can at least check it out. Back to Moo I guess.

We tried out GalCiv1, and while the AI was supposedly impressive on first inspection, it didn't really stand up to a thorough poke and prod. It was more aggressive than smart.

GalCiv2 seemed to me to be more about adding more 'stuff' and less about improving the core gameplay. So I never got into it. Not sure about anyone else.

I bought GalCiv2 and it is an improvement, but I never got over the feeling that expanding starbases by building a zillon constructors was just boring.

Else, the game had something.
