Descent: Road to Legend Campaign Diary

Hi,

In general I agree, but in the case of Descent:Road to Legend, it looks like they didn't even do basic playtesting. There are so many obvious oversights in the dungeon designs, several contradictions in the rules (and even in the FAQs trying to clarify the rules!) and obvious late-game problems that it isn't even funny anymore. Our second campaign will have *lots* of house-rules and rule changes, based on lots of discussions in the Descent forums.

That's true. I didn't know of many of the MoO exploits for example before hitting Realms Beyond, and wouldn't have found out about some problems with Descent either without the net. On the other hand, there's a lot of brainstorming done on the net with interesting ideas for how to better balance the game which I would have missed as well. smile

Thanks! And sorry that I haven't updated the diary for some time now; I got swamped with work (and even missed Adventure 35 which I so badly wanted to play... frown ). I will do some updates this weekend though, and hope to get back to normal now.

Just passing through, catching up with what's going on. Had no intentions to stay.

A few hours later, I finish what's been written so far.

Sounds like fun. I'll be lurking. smile
On average, everybody thinks they are above average.
