Imperium 18: RefSteel explores OCD

Well, it's closing day, so I've gone ahead and posted my report in the usual spot. I hope you enjoy it, and that others had a chance to try out the game!

Nice presentation, as ever, and interpretation - OCD, ha-ha!

I quite liked the idea of Ruthless but it looks to be a real pain! You just get your teeth into one weakling and another one shows up distracting attention and leading to difficult multi-front wars. Expansionist, if taken literally, is also more demanding than it first appears. Taking every planet (what comes above Extermination?) certainly took it to its limit, great effort. Very good win with ups and downs throughout.

Thanks very much for the compliments! I didn't quite control every star in the galaxy: I had hoped to take Orion before achieving extermination, but wound up lacking the time to play that out. I actually didn't realize until just now that this could have been the first game of Orion in which I controlled literally every star - no empty stars in this galaxy! "Then we killed all their fleets, stuck the Salt Croc in orbit over their last world, and hit next turn a zillion times until he had a Guardian-Killer fleet" wouldn't have made for very good storytelling even if I had time though.

Vipersian! <Evil, sibilant, understated laughter...>

(I'm not sure that turning "Viper" into "Vespasian" actually worked as a name, but I'm sticking with it anyway; this choice of name had nothing to do with his personality, a little to do with rising to power from military leadership, and everything to do with the letter V.)
