Hey Ruff, just got through reading your thread and reviewing all the tactics you used to beat me ... in the post count. Of course since I'm now retroactively spamming my own thread to try and compete I probably shouldn't be posting over here as well, but whatever.
The one thing I was disappointed not to find over here was your assessment of the Theology/CS trade which also got the AP completed as Confucian rather than Christian. Looking back, I think that long-term I came out of that deal pretty well, so I had been hoping to get your viewpoint of the deal from that time ... who you thought was getting the better half of that deal?
Ruff_Hi Wrote:Dreylin shared the version he had of that comment from mh ... it sounded like it was out of context to me. I was talking about Cultural Victory.
Guess I will re-read that email - I thought I had included that mh had done a bang up job holding Dreylin off (and giving me a chance to win).
If you've got far enough through my thread then you'll know that mh sent me the whole of your message, so I saw the context (and maybe grasped it far more than mh did). However the key was that it finally made me think about how you were planning to prevent my Culture quest and realise that what was in store for me was really unexciting. That jarred me enough to finally start listening to what mh was saying and not continue with "mh must die, stabbity death" for the rest of the game.
In the end though, I think I probably would have beaten you simply because having all three of the Culture Corporations meant that I could turn any old city into a 50t contender pretty quickly, and then culture doublers from 6 religions could get that down to 30-ish in fairly short order.
Though I don't like to think what effect your revolting Ankara might have had on my economy....
