Entertaining read as always, T-Hawk.
Prebuilt tile improvements may be a handicap in the late game but it's a huge boost at the start. I guess the dogma it underlines is to always have enough workers in your "regular" games, so that your cities grow onto improved tiles.
I also noticed the religions going very fast, I hadn't thought of that before I started playing. Luckily I was beelining military techs, not religion.
The capital city naming probably indicated which "Ancient God Civilization" originally inhabited that area.
