Hear ye, hear ye! All ye who have not contacted all five of thy brethren, please refrain from posting in the public thread. The town crier, however, wishes to inform ye that his proclamations can be heard by all, regardless of status.

53k0nd p057!
I, too, now have contact with all civs. I guess this just proves that water civs are inherently superior to our land-based brethren! :neenernee

Wow, the price of iron is plummeting! You can get it for as little as... nothing!
Crazy!

Cyneheard of Carthage has declared the Religious Victory To Be Anathema to his rule within his kingdom, regardless of his position as Sitting Hindu Pope or as Voting Member.

From the Apostolic See in Cornwall, Carthage, the newest Pope, Celestine I, head of the Holy Hindu Church, Bishop of Cornwall, gives his Urbi et Orbi sermon:
"Dear Brothers and Sisters, the Electors of The One True Faith have chosen me, formerly Cardinal-Brahmin Calvin of Crabby City, as the new Pope of this new age of the Hindu Peoples. During my rule, the See will not use its power to claim dominance over world. Furthermore, this current war between the Russians, who have a few followers of the One True Faith, and the Netherlands, where no missionaries have dared to tread, is beyond the power of the Apostolic See to intervene. We can only mediate in the wars between True Followers of the Faith, who are only the peoples of Carthage and Sumeria, and those who allow Hindus to leave peaceably in their lands."
The crowd in Cornwall responded:
"Long live Celestine, Leader of the Faith! Long live Cyneheard, Protector of the Faith! Long live Celestine! Long live Cyneheard!"
*News reports indicate that soldiers of Carthage were seen passing out gold pieces to the tens of thousands of pilgrims after the speech was concluded. We have been unable to find pilgrims who refused to shout, although reports of missing pilgrims are flooding in from all over the Known World*

Thank goodness, "the See" was really scaring me!

Official News Brief, 117th Volume of the Carthaginian Courant, printed with the generous support of the HinduChurch Of Cornwall:
The year 1140AD was a year of mourning and joy in the Carthaginian Empire.
William The Conqueror, graduate of Cyneheard's Imperialistic Training School, housed in The Great Wall, was killed in loyal service to Cyrus. HinduPope Celestine I held the State Funeral this morning. In it, he announced that one of William's last orders was to elevate Colonel Chamberlain to take his place, and we look forward to many long years of loyal service.
The Knights of The Round Table avenged William's death, by giving him an Honor Guard worthy of memory. Sadly, they were too few in number to clear Carthage of the heathen Russians and the excommunicated Dutch.
Rumor has it that the next Great Graduate of Cyneheard's ITS will finish his education any day now.
Disclaimer: Any statements made by the Carthaginian Courant should not be taken as an indication of an official statement by the CCCentralCity government of Consul Cyneheard and Cing Cyrus, as they are a religious publication, not a political one.
