FfH2 Adventure 1: DaveV's bronze warrior rush

Quote:Nice read, and this will explain to the rest how the elves work :P

Yeah? This game doesn't read all that elfily to me. It does the early rush really well, but doesn't really have much to do with being an elf. This was more of a "Doviello lite" game than anything else.

Which isn't to say it isn't valid. This games score system was half based around speed, and you can't get faster than a warrior rush.

Well, at least hte first paragraph on the basics of elves :P

Hi Iskender! I don't think horsemen or hunters would have worked as well: they're each equal in raw strength to bronze warriors when attacking a city (although horsemen have first strike and retreat chance, and hunters are better outside cities), but they cost 2.4 times as much. They each also require a 100-hammer building, so they can't be spammed in the massive numbers that warriors can. On a bigger map, the movement advantage might pay off, though.

Very nice game and report, DaveV!

I expected that one of the FFH2 vets would demonstrate how to rush -- this appears to be an excellent demo of the approach, at least to this FFH2 noob.

I was not at all confident in my ability to rush, not knowing the game or how strongly the AIs would defend. (Not strongly at all, apparently!) So I ended up playing much more of a builder game as I learned how things work in FFH2. But this is a great example of what can be done with the bronze warrior spam -- you conquered the world before I eliminated my first AI opponent. lol

I like how this report points out all the weakness of the Ais in FFH, and we have so many reports detailing failures or unsuccessful adventures :P

Nice report!

And here I thought I was 'rushing' the other civs with the infernals... You had almost killed all the good civs by the time I declared war on my first opponent.

Did you (or anyone that played) use the Svartalfar world spell? I figured it might have its uses in conquest.... but then again hidden nationality units can't capture cities right?

No, they can't.

Hidden Nationality isn't really a conquer the world spell. It's a way to cause a bit of havoc and economic turmoil without quite committing to war.
