I chose to go heavy on the food and just take a single gold tile, plus the stone plains hill and marble plains hill. Spam hte early wonders, and stick with the simple mass GPP strategy.
OK, so start: worker, working the 3 food 1 hammer corn. Research Myst
T8: research mining
T9: worker built, improve the corn, build Henge
T14: move to gold
T16: Research BW, due in 15
T18: BW in 7?
...
T28: Henge built, build 1 DS, due in 2 w/chop
T40: TGW built (I frigging hate barbs)
T46: Gp born, add to city as spec.
T50: Writing research
T51; Pyramids built
T52: revolt to Rep/Slavery
T61: GS born (low odds but I'll take it...Academy time)
T62: Maths researched
T69: CoL researched, Oracle finished, Bureacracy taken, revolt to Bureaucracy and CoL.
T74: Gspy born. Add to city.
T78: research Mono, revolt to OR (in hindshight should have done with Bureau).
T79: revolt to Confu
T84: finish Parth
T89: finish GL
T90: GS, add to city
T91: Finish NE
T95: GS born, add to city
T97: GT finished, start max growth
T100 HG finished.
T101: Philo finished, revolt to Pacifism.
T104: GA, add to city.
T100: GS
T112: UoS built
T113 Shaka declares war on Sury, thank god.
T116: GS born.
T120: GS
T124: GP
T129: GP. Lost MoM (aw...)
T149 take Lib for Bio
T153 Shaka declares war. With 2 Impis, a HA and 7 cats. Time to break out the muskets.
OK, now I stopped taking notes and just played the game. I ended up getting declared on by every single AI in the game at one point or another, and just dealing with them. I won at 1846 after forgetting to launch the ship for a single turn, and warred with muskets, rifles, Inf and MI, and 2 airships.
Assortment of screenshots:
Cyrus: fission, Radio, plastics, Refrig
HRE: med, Elec, Flight, AL, Arty
Spain: Fascism, Communism, combustion, Arty, Ind, radio, refrig
Carth: Fission,ind, radio, refrig,
Shaka: SM, Chem, Edu, Demo, DR.
That means I'm up...Fusion, Computers, Robotics, Superconductors, Genetics, Advanced Flight, Laser, Compositites, Radio, Satellites, Plastics, Mass Media, refrigeration, fibre optics.
If I'd have milked this game, I'd have possibly gotten 16 by knocking out Izzy, but that would have required not getting attacked constantly from muskets onwards...as it was I scored 14 points.

Nice game and writeup Krill. I had the same dilemma you did with that. I found that revolting 3 civics still takes 2 turns, so it didn't really matter if you did that at once or not. I chose to just do Bureau and OR - skipping Caste for awhile - though obviously with all that food for you it was much more important.
In some of my test games that I did, I really ran into all that warring - what was the religion distribution in your game?
How many specialists were you running at the end, and how many GPs did you generate?

GP generated (and not from techs you can see from the bottom screenshot. I generated 20 GS and 35 GP total). Izzy was bud along with Sury while he was alive, the other continent was Hindu, Shaka was Jewish, and I was stuck with Confu because bud didn't spread until after t150.
I maxed the city out at size 65, thanks to Cereal Mills (or whatever the corn/wheat resource corp is) so 45 specs

Haha, I like that the Internet gave you Hunting, Animal Husbandry, Archery and Horseback Riding in 1715AD.

Priorities. The problem I had is that I needed to max hammers for a short while to crank out some units. Probably lost 20 turns of max tech and GS, to the extent that I figure I probably lost 10 turns off the finish time, which would have raised my score a fair amount. As it was the turn I finish I had the entire tech try complete excluding Future Tech, had razed about 3-4 cities and killed off way too many units - I earned 8 GG the hard way. The only thing to make the game vague worthwhile reading about is that I had to fight off 6 Immortal AIs at various points of the game, and that isn;t difficult once you get a tech lead.

Yeah - I also got Archery and HBR from the Internet and also found it pretty . I would have also gotten Hunting and AH but I had taken those from Sury for peace awhile earlier

Wow! I guess even the AI knows what a rat bastard Krill is!
The map spawned the Zulu randomly there. I didn't choose them, but smiled at the thought of Krill getting some revenge for Weekend OCC 6. And it happened just as I planned! :neenernee

Stop insulting rat bastards!
Actually, now that you've reminded me I might replay the game and take Shaka out completely...

Damn Shaka declared on me too. But he got punked and then I sent Sury after him.
Size 65! I hit 45, but had all hills and didn't bother with a corporation. I definitely should've build Cereal Mills.

I'm kinda with T-hawk in that all hills is a waste, but I put 5 corn on hills so I could mine them and still grow vertically fast during hte early turns to get henge, Pyramids, Oracle and TGW. The Corp I still look back and wonder about TBH. I think it worked out OK simply because it comes with a tech that you want to give you SS parts (Thrusters) to build while you tech to Composites for another 5 parts. I started Apollo t214 and won t293 (should have been t292), so I spent a fair proportion of the game (26.7%!) just building the SS parts and Apollo, plus the Internet.
