ah, well they offered a lot of good peace deals I think ... but that was before I lost my armies xD
I think the best peace deal was right before I attacked, which, after Gillette made peace, might have been the best choice.
Honestly though, by that point I feel that I had whipped too much/ too fast to be able to win peacefully by that point .... if I had whipped a bit less, let the cottages grow out more, maybe even avoided OR or just switched into a religion (lol) ..... then I think I could have still potentially done something in a 2 front war with Trolls (even if I didn't have that many offensive troops), and been the better for it in the long run.
I think if I get more used to BTS/ more used to the pros and cons of whipping ... then maybe ...

Apart from missing the last turn, okay. Basically just microing away, trying to setup a moai build in the iron island.

No. I'm just playing it out really.
If we can get to vamps, then maybe

I don't have anything else to do, and Old Harry told me that war was coming between them and Trolls, so I decided to do a bit of trolling myself
I moved up a bunch of knights to a position (in full view of Trolls...purposefully, but making it look accidental) where they could raze two cities next turn While on the theme I moved up a G2 longbow 2 where it could hit a city that's weakly guarded, and 4 tiremes and a galley on the Pirates border.
Now am I going to do any of this? No, of course not But I wonder if I'll get a reaction
On another subject, the empire's not doing too badly. T194, just researched Nationalism with 4t left in the GA. I'm going to try and fit banking in, and maybe even Theocracy so I can swap to NH, Mercantalism and Theo at the end. After that I'll double back for Engineering, and run some calculations on MS or rifling after that.
Moai completes next turn.

Looks like things are getting interesting for the lurkers (if there are any...):
Old Harry Wrote:Hey Q,
Just thought I'd give you a heads up that we're going to get hit by Trolls in a big way on t201. I'd really appreciate it if you'd let us know if you see any stacks of their boats near your coast.
We're hoping we can hold out long enough that you, Pirates or M3 can get involved, but I guess that's probably wishful thinking.
Cheers
Old Harry Qgqqqqq Wrote:Okay, I'll tell you if I notice anything. I probably won't be able to help though.
Do you think you can win [the game that is] from here? Old Harry Wrote:Only if I'm much better at fighting than I think... Its only fair to give Trolls the pleasure of rolling over us after such an impressive build up! Qgqqqqq Wrote:Do you think anyone else can?
Not trying to push for anything, but I'm interested in your opinion. I don't spend enough time on the game (and when I do, its just playing simcity in whipping enough junk to make people think before war) to make a valid opinion, and its not really my game anyway. Old Harry Wrote:If we manage to stop Trolls in their tracks then Gillette will win, if Trolls get through to our capital before t210 then Trolls will win, unless we then annihilate their stack, in which case M3 might be able to take our cities back from them, some of their core and get into a winning position. I don't see the game going past t210 though. Qgqqqqq Wrote:Oh that's cool
Probably not for the reason you suspect though, my first NAP runs out T220, and I'd rather not have to face war
Anyway, good luck! Old Harry Wrote: thanks
So good chance we'll see a concession soon - if there's an admin in extant then my vote is in favor/abstain.

So what's happening? Mailing them in or enjoying them?

Well I haven't actually seen a save in a while, so that dampens enjoyment, but generally mailing them in anyway, I've secured game-long NAPs with the two teams best suited to absorbing me so there isn't nightly care about, as my coast would fall in a heart-beat is any of the others decided to try their luck. I've bought back enough territory to restore us to our earlier state, and even managed a little bit more before OB shenanigans persuaded me to sell the central city on.
So yeah I don't really have much to build up for atm, which hurts enthusiasm. I've nearly got my third GP out for a second GA (actually can't remember, it might be my fourth along with the capitals academy), which should power me through rifling and hopefully constitution and even democracy - might as well grow my conquerers some lovely towns
I haven't really enjoyed the diplo aspect as its kinda twisted this game massively, with all of the other three teams really devoting all their efforts to take down the trolls, even when it became clear that they were no longer in the lead. I think that's why plako and zak pulled out, I think it's just darrell now. If this is a subtle question about concession then I'm obviously fine with it, TEAM hasn't had a chance since before I took over and most of my incidental diplo has been about when people think the game will end - I'm certainly not caring enough to delay it.
