Interesting game, and a great write-up! I'm not good at making a coherent narrative out of these reports, and this time I took far too few screen shots and didn't annotate them either.

One thing that struck me was that I managed to beat you in virtually all the scoring categories. I think it was because I geared my entire early game play on beelining Machinery (via Oracle-bulbing MC). Ie, my early GPs were dominated by GEs, and I got the windmills far earlier.

Good work on settling the south - I dithered around for too long and found myself beaten to that area by Catherine and Bismarck. The lack of a real southern seaport hurt me a lot.

2560 BC is a remarkably fast world wonder. I'll be shocked if you don't win that category. smile Did you do anything useful or fun with the EP from the settled spy?

I did design that northern lake to be a good food area - not tailored to a specific city spot, but just that lighthouse lakes and some seafood would work out well. I see you built cottages at your Angkor Wat site with the flood plains? But you still had economic trouble. I don't know if you didn't have enough cottages (regular grass hills can also take them) or if cottages were worse than windmills or mines.

Yes, you were Organized most definitely on purpose to allow small marginal cities to be useful, with quick courthouses. Ind would also help towards key wonders like Hanging Gardens, Great Library, and Sankore. So the unrestricted leader combo was to get Ind/Org with the Baray UB for food. Ind can't help if you wait until 640 AD before doing the Great Library, though. wink

Late Great Engineers for a culture victory can do something along the Broadway - Rock N Roll - Eiffel Tower line of wonders, or did you not get that far in tech?

Well that spot was legendary for me. wink

I didn't get close to those techs. While I had rifles (that stop Cathy dead with her declaring war 2 - part of missing report) I simply turned up the slider. I was running 100% culture slider with surplus thanks to wealth.

Wow - I really botched the end date. I quick looked and grabbed from a different game.

I updated the last page with the actual date (much earlier), and final pics of the 3 legendary cities.

Lee, you don't seem to have reported your population for 1500 AD... can you find that from a save? (edit - never mind - found it in the screenshot.)
