kryszcztov's Adventure Two Report

kryszcztov Wrote:And believe me or not, but I thought that the Greeks were located north of the Arabs before reading other spoilers. lol Because Alex met me in the immediate east of Tenochtitlan quite early.

Hah! I thought the same thing for awhile - Alex's scout just zoomed up north and then west, for some reason, and when I saw it I thought he was just east of my capital across the water. I wonder why that happened for both of us.

I usually skip Parthenon, but it was actually ideal for this map (though I didn't realize it in my game), with all those fish, there were a couple very viable specialist farm sites. I whipped National Epic in the one near the capital to the SW and generated several scientists (for academies) and a couple merchants (to feed low food cities).

@ Bezhukov : Yes, I think super specialists are nice too, but they make sense only if you create them in the first half of the game. As for what super specialist to get, well, you generally don't decide on that. I tend to put everything in one city (usually the capital), where different bonuses can be multiplied by the same, high rate (in the capital). So I put all my great specialists in my capital, so as to get the most out of my bonuses. I think it is even stronger than in Civ3, since everyone is now talking of specialized cities (well, I make my capital the best one and my other cities so-so, how specialized is that ? lol ), and since in Civ3, there was no need to build the scientific wonders in a same city (this can be seen if you do the math), if you had other cities with the same raw beakers (but I could be wrong).

@ xenikos : Don't know. Maybe Saladin was lazy in both games ? I don't put great value in knowing where my enemies are with precision. An error ?

Actually, I whipped The National Epic in the double-fish slave city for the express purpose of having some control over which Great People were generated. 6 specialists x 6 GP per was a little slow compared to your powerhouse (probably should have run pacifism for a while to juice things a bit), but it was a thing of beauty with a rushed factory allowing 3 engineers and 3 merchants. Briefly contemplated rushing Ironworks there for the 5 engineer plan. eek Couldn't swing the health though...
