[SPOILERS] DaveV and Averax end the revels

Since this game is decided (spoiler: TBS wins!) but the other two guys seem determined to play on, I won't be reporting much from now on. Before I sign off, I want to apologize to Q for my snide remarks about the map. It was an interesting map, and I enjoyed the clever player names. In the end, the game was decided by the actions of the players rather than any map imbalance, and that's the ultimate yardstick for judging the success of a map. So, thanks for the map, Q! Good game, all.

Quote:Turn 150. I checked the log to see how many cities superjm had razed or captured, and was shocked to see the answer: zero. This is after he spent the whole game preparing, and frittering away the chance to have an ally who would actually have made a difference. If he's only going to take one peripheral city every two turns, this is not even going to put a dent in TBS.

I did immediately raze a city and was immediately within striking distance of his holy city, which was the initial plan, but he managed to defend it with his megastack nigh instantly. That kind of screwed up everything I wanted to do. Other than that I really didn't have a viable angle of attack. I didn't have many borders to work with without abandoning my core cities and trying to strike the former Calabim lands seemed like a waste so I focused my entire attack at his core hoping to do some damage before he reinforced, but that ended up being a dud.

Unfortunately reading this thread it turns out attacking mere turns earlier might have made a big difference in how things turned out. I think what happened is that TBS's Rosier stack was directly north of my land finishing off what was left of the Calabim, so I kept my wizards on standby in that area until he turned around, and only then did I go on the offensive but I'd need to look at my save files again to see if I really could have attacked earlier than I did given the information I had available.
