It's nice that LT stepped in to sub, but this game is over:






Com took a big border city off of LT and then got peace. He is lapping the field in soldier count and all the Important Demos. He is 2 turns from Machinery and probably 4-6 more from Guilds. I have no idea how strong Yuris is, but I imagine he's the only one who could stand up to Commodore. We essentially need everyone to team him at this point.

I assume everyone can see what sort of rubble my empire has become. That whole quick jaunt into non-war civics went noticed.

But why is everyone else still playing this game?

Like the contrast between the last to screenshots. The purple colour makes Commodoreland look like a malignant tumour.

What do you think you could have done, if anything, to avoid this fate?

I could have stayed in slavery forever and whipped down, but I was not at tech parity and CKNs + Knights would wreck anything I had, even if I stayed in slavery. Commodore nearly had knights, had CKNs, and I had ancient garbage. On top of that, Com smartly picked Guerilla 2 for most of his CKNs which enabled him great flexibility in my land. To boot, I was behind for most of the game due to bad starting techs and never really caught up. I don't think I had great land either on top of the fact I've never personally been able to leverage PHI that well. I ran a gambit to try and catch up and well, that's that.

I had a brief opportunity to pressure Commodore around T55 while he was busy with Pindicator, but it was not clear at that point who was in the lead or if pressuring Commodore would let Pindi start to run away. Pindicator had impressive demos at that point. If I had the chance again, I would do the same thing again.

Truth be told, once Commodore won his war against LT, I was finished.
