Where are the Tournament games?

I'd love to play an updated Rome vs the Barbarians T-hawk. I've been thinking about building that for the last few months, but haven't had any time shakehead.

Also Sirian is right in that someone like Sirian telling a story about a single player game can get the community enthused, but unfortunately most of us don't write that well, so the political interactions of multi-player tend to provide the hook instead.

Agree with both of the above

I've been (poorly) playing the old Adventures on occasion, and I'd definitely be interested in a new entry-level event. Also, is there any way to play the vanilla/Warlords scenarios using the BTS ruleset?

Yes. You need to save the game in worldbuilder, then edit the file extension to .CivBeyondSwordWBSave. Then you can open it as a BtS save, though some things can be lost in transit (for example, traits will be changed to that of BtS).
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.

I dunno. Well, no, I mean, yes, MP is always going to be a more 'complete and compelling' experience in the sense that, er, your opponent can actually play the game well without cheating lol but the stories you can tell... someone executing a madcap plan against the AI is just as much fun to read as them doing so against a human. Possibly more so, because you're not tempted to worry about how they might be throwing away a months-long game - a SP game is over in a week or two at most!

And... y'know, the old SP Adventure reports still make good reading even now. They're short(ish) and snappy(ish), and some of the writers on here are really compelling (there's this 'T-hawk' person whose website I worked my way through at one point... ^_~). That sort of 'half-hour complete story' isn't really something you can get from a MP game. (Or maybe it is and I just don't have that skill? I'unno).

Oh, please do! As... may have been obvious, I'd love to play an RB Adventure. I'm one of those people who Does Not Socialise - I'd never handle a Multiplayer game (in so many respects). But a SP Adventure I can fail hilariously at without damaging anything but the pride I don't have - brilliant!
