An odd Rakir

I thought something was odd about this Rakir, so I looked it up on the wiki. Sure enough, he's supposed to have 5MP instead of 10. If caster is chosen as a random pick, casting skill will increase by 5. But Rakir doesn't have any random picks, so how could his casting skill have increased? He also costs 125GP instead of the usual 100.

Is that even possible, to gain a level before hiring? I wasn't a warlord or anything, Alchemist and Node Master. Even if you have warlord, he gains a level as soon as he's hired, not before.

Heroes gain a level whenever they would offer themselves but you reject them or lack the gold for the offer to show up.

Ahh....I think I remember that from long, long ago. Another reason to send unwanted heroes on one-way trips exploring ruins. I didn't have the cash to hire Rakir and kill him, so I just rejected him. Nobody wants him coming back...except me, I suppose, when I'm desperate for heroes.
