WG4-Superdeath Spoilers.

Corkscrew map, Balanced in the fact that they start with more money/units than i do.. compared to my first-to bonus. Should be fun!

My basic plan is to try and capture as much territory as i can, as fast as i can.. THEN build trebs and play defensibly. Hopefully the other players quit copying me.. lol
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. im going for a semi-aggressive approach. Going to steal away the north AND west center towns. Then, consolidate.. watch for an opening vs one of my neighbors.. then smash into them with heavy units.

The new guy is tearing Scooter apart.. I made the mistake of making VERY aggressive moves towards the defensive-in-nature OH, and so long as i can.. i plan on full retreating and prepping for Scooter to die. Which i hope OH realizes, and we can tag-team the new guy. Not gonna make the same mistake that Scooter/Brick did one i ate CH, and let me consolidate.. hammer

Apparently i forgot to update here... Well with big BIG news this turn, i might as well fill ya in!

So, Scooter died. He didnt protect his HQ enough, and frankly.. his commander would have been next to die within the next turn or two. So he died, and me and OH basically said WELL SHIT.. and proceeded to draw a line in the sand and attack the invader before he could double up and poke one of us. Long story short: he moved stuff forward, we clashed, same with OH/him. He then began a weird retreat, and then completely said "screw it" and came running forward. He didnt calculate the potential damage i could do with his Commander so exposed.... it took some prep work, and 600 gold.. ( 700 if i count the poor soldier ) but i got him. Started with an 8 hp soldier ive had for awhile... he's just weak enough to deal damage, but still die. ( 78-87% dmg to the soldier, who sat at 80%.. i was biting nails! ) He had to die, so that the critting knight AKA the VIP, could slam into his commander for a good 30%+ I also decided that i would use both witches to hex the commander down 20% after the soldier attacked. I also had an archer who did a decent little bit to soften him up, although it could have went badly with its damage range being 3-11%. Followed up with my dragon eating a spear, and my commander giving his a good talking to... alright  Now the race is on to see if i can get enough eco to counter OH's vastly better defensive position. I can HOPE for a commander kill on him.. but honestly im not liking the situation. IF he reacts the correct way, ( capturing territory, and holding position ) i will likely have to forfeit/concede within 5 turns. My groove charges too slowly, and his is almost a direct counter. I cannot get to him while the gem is alive, and it lives long enough for him to have another one when he wants to move... Emeric is a beast.

Good turn! Looks like I was too greedy trying to charge Elodie's groove, I thought I'd get attacked by two units max yikes

hehe. Now the race is on to see if i can trap his commander. I basically have to get a Commander kill, i cannot realistically break his hold on the middle with his groove/positioning imo.

OH is traveling, so its giving me time to think of possible ways out of this. . . Its not looking great. My best hopes rely on him being unable to punish my spending down south, while leaving almost nothing at home base. My groove is up soon, and i want to try and bait out a attack on my commander, then jump away. Hopefully that pulls some of his own troops out of the way so i can charge in and snipe his commander. He has ALOT of funds this turn however so its not looking all that great. If he makes a giant, or treb in the south.. its not going to be pretty. I wont win a prolonged war against Emeric, its just not how our grooves match up. Being "natural" enemies wasnt good. IMO, my leader is more of a "attack early, and get a quick kill" kind of leader.. then once we transition into the mid-late game, the grooves only real purpose is to avoid being trapped/sniped.

I shouldnt have let him get such a stranglehold on the center during the 2v1.. But i needed all my units to avenge scooter. Not going to surrender officially till i lose some key units, but i gotta hope for some post-travelling mistakes.

OH's positioning before i killed the bard was amazing. Trouble is, the map didnt really allow me much of a chance to break a wall once it has been made. Plus, OH's commander Emeric is flat out Broke on this map imo.

Overall i had fun. Got another kill to add to my belt, and it was humbling to lose a game of wargroove. alright

Basically, unit advantage in number, high class units, and positioning along with no real way to attack into someone already more economically superior.. heh.
