What difficulty / version?

I've been playing version 1.50 for a long time, pretty much always on Hard. With 1.5 the just between Hard and Extreme is pretty... extreme. But Hard is really not a challenge anymore, while Extreme is almost always too difficult.

I played 1.51 for a while on Impossible, but it was too difficult to handle, and makes it blatantly clear how unfair the AI bonuses are. 1.31 on Impossible is what I've played the most, so far(discounting CoM and Warlords of course).
