Finally back home I can post my report: Domination victory in 1400 AD
I settled in place and started to research mysticism and then meditation. Normally there would be no chance to get bhuddism, but with only one opponent who is not usually going for religions, I thought I will get it and I did.
I found out that we don't have copper available. Since I saw ivory, I decided to research towards construction for war elephants and catapults.
This was a good decision, since iron was in a very bad spot. I would have needed to waste a unproductive city to get it.
Alexnader decided that he had enopugh of me and declared war. Fortunately I had already enough war elephants built and I could easily dispose his first invasion troops (2 horse archer and 2 swordsmen)
Now I am ready for a counter attack: Knossos first
Then Corinth. By that time I decided to go for a domination victory.
The war was not difficult at all. The combination of war elephants and catapults is deadly, even for longbowmen.
I reduced Alexander to his core cities and hoped that the remaining lands were large enough for the required 74% land
Since my economy was in very bad shape, I decided to found all additional cities at the same time. In 1388 I had 8 settlers in position.
At that time I had only a bit more than 65% of the land
In 1394 I founded 8 cities. I was not sure whether this would be enough, but I was almost certain that after 3 turns when they have their first border expansion (with an artist) it would be.
It turned out, that I got exactly 74%, so I had my victory 3 turns earlier than expected.

This was a very exciting game I'm already looking forward to start playing epic 8
