You must be able to count adjacent tiles from your unit to a salt water tile in four hops. Not a coastal tile, a salt water tile. The example you listed would be out of legal range.

I think I screwed that up.

Question:

If I have been min researching a tech, and get Astronomy by trading, should I abandon the min research and switch to Navigation asap? Also do we have to set max possible research on those techs?

Anyway, I forgot about the rule completely. Even after the min research I chose to research two other techs and get Navitation about 14 turns later.

So I'll post my results but probably disqualified?

I play D&D on Sunday nights, and always check after the game to see if I need to open or close an Epic before I go to bed. Only, the game was cancelled this week, and without that "cue", I didn't even remember to start the thread. Sorry!
