Adventure Nineteen - Kodii's Game (Communism)

Woohoo, same tech as Sullla! lol

I haven't read his report yet, but I am definitely looking forward to it.

My game is currently incomplete, and I will not be able to finish this Victoria long weekend, so I might as well report now.

I chose Communism to play with State Property and "No Distance Maintenance"

I expanded extremely rapidly and set up a cottage economy (all those floodplains eek ) which quickly brought me into the clear lead. I also had an early war with Monty which allowed me to expand even further.

Before long, I had a commanding tech lead. I lightbulbed Astronomy in the early AD years, which allowed me to discover and settle the empty continent, as well as the unoccupied sections of the archipelago to the south.

With such a commanding lead, I began to get bored and was unable to complete the game.

Choosing Communism was definitely an interesting choice, as it allowed for relatively painless expansion (Civ3 flashbacks!). I also set up the Kremlin and Scotland Yard rather early.

I will dig up an "incomplete" date for record purposes. I do not have any screenshots, but for an idea of how much I expanded at the start, take a look at Sullla's report.

Thanks to darrelljs for the awesome game idea! smile

I wish there was more info here, to find out exactly how things went for my Communist brother! lol I'm sure the start could have been played better, and the comparisons would interesting between our games.

Any screenshots or a specific retired date would be nice to have, definitely.

As usual, I was pretty luck regarding wars. The only war I was involved in was a rather early war with Monty where his invading force was pathetic and I was able to capture a city of his.

At the point that I retired (which happened to be Sullla's favorite comparing date of 1500 AD), any victory path could have been taken. I had just taken Steel from Liberalism, so I could have gone on a rampage and take a Conquest or Domination victory.

I was also a tech leader, so I could have gone for Space.

I had good relations (and lots of land), so I could have gone for Diplomatic.

And of course, anyone can get a Cultural victory this late in the game by grabbing those essential techs, spreading religion, changing to the right civics and cranking up the culture slider.

I only took one screenshot in the early years:

I have no clue why I took this screenshot. Perhaps it was to signify the end of my expansion phase.

Another screenshot taken was probably by instinct.

The last two were taken after I reloaded up my save. If you compare this screenshot to Sullla's, you can see that our original expansion phase was quite similar, but Sullla did manage to expand more than I did, especially to the east.

This screenshot shows my first settlement in the "New World". Ironically, it happens to be Haerbin too.

Well played, too bad you couldn't finish the game it looks like you started off on the same course as Sulla and stayed parallel until you retired thumbsup.
