hahaha you always crack me up! i love comparing the games. you and i had a ton of similarities, but our styles of course have HUGE differences. we both got really nice cities from the barbs for free, lucky us!
"Next turn, Cathy asked for Theology and I gave her. How can you say no to that smile?"
it's very easy. in my case she asked for drama. i told her she's enough of a drama queen even without the tech, and sent her on her merry way
.
"I'm sorry, man, but I need to spend some supply money around. Actually, I was a little bit shorthanded on troops. I wish I had some more, but I could at least pillage some from him."
the very thought of declaring a war while i'm shorthanded on troops ... that would never ever cross my mind!!! they might obliterate me, are you kidding?
"The WW was kicking in. I needed to deal with it, so I revolted to Police State, Slavery and Nationhood. Nationhood was more for the Barracks happiness than the drafting ability. Slavery to get rid of those unhappy faces on new cities and Police State to avoid new ones."
we both went for nappy first, and we both got the pyramids from him. i used police state from his pyramids too, and nationhood, altho i didn't use it for my war with him, i used it only much later. and it was my first time using police state ever, i doubt it was yours *giggle*.
"By now I got Military Tradition researched... I just forgot to research Gunpowder..."
i've done that before! i think i actually did it twice before the lesson finally kicked in
"OH MY GOD! This was my earliest win ever. And, of course, the greatest score I've achieved!"
we won within one turn of each other! mine wasn't my earliest win by a longshot. but i hardly ever set out to conquer the world, and this game was my highest score by WAY more than double any of my others
. higher than most, which tend to be diplo, cultural, or OCC, by a factor of 10!
