Anyone happen to browse the old N54 forums, don't be alarmed if you see the format changed. Only the ol' Forge forum is affected at this time, however.

It is time I go and achieve the old forums and save them on disk, like I did with the Asylum forum. The Asylum was easier to save since it contained only text other than a simple banner ad N54 served then.

I changed the Forge format to "simple thread view" so I get the "View All Posts" option but it shows too many Ads and RB gfx. One way I can achieve the forums is by the use of a site ripper/offline browser but I have never used one before. Anyone care to recommand a ripper?

I quick searched the N54 Admin forum and using a site ripper is all I can find as a solution. I seem to remember there were some kind of ware for forum import/export... just wondering if anyone have come across such software, or other recommendations.

Yes. I want to achieve the old rb forums on disk, in my computer in case anything ever happen to N54.

I tried "HTTrack Website Copier" on the Forge forum and the archieve is 87.3 mb unzipped. That is huge. Of course the file size will be smaller once zipped, and more if I strip the forum down to pure text format.

Any suggestions?

The forum achieves is nice to have on disk too, because the old forums do not have a search function. But then again, it may give my Google Desktop Search too much junk results ;p
