Adventure43- Missed again.

In an epic brain lapse I managed to throw away the notes for this game smoke! This is going to be entierly from memory and the few pictures I took:

This game can be best described as having made one blunder after another. Start was good enough, moving the warrior caught nothing I could use:

Starting build was a worker mostly out of lack of anything else to build, techs set to mining to get hammers into play. Now I had wanted to be on the coast to grab the Colossus; a wonder which I actually did get but never really got much use out of. Building the thing would cost me my expansion, and Lizzie managed to take many city sites I had been eying for some time.

A barb city would spawn at some point and force me to shuffle my cities around. I planned to take it at some point but then Lizzie beat me to that as well! I had to settle for an extremely weak fourth city (no hammers, once one of Lizzies cities took my only hill tile in range of that city). Again, mostly bad moves made on my part.

Now most of my known continent was Buddhist, Lizzie having founded it early on. She actually switched out of it by adopting Free Religion with the Shwedagon Paya. This, coupled with the fact that her borders were putting immense pressure on mine (due to my failure to expand) made her a prime target for attack. And that was where I stood at the time of my last photo:

Again, with hindsight I realize that I placed my cities badly (and Lizzie took some of them as well, again smoke on my part). Seville could have gone one tile north to avoid waisting a hill (it was my Moai city; but the extra hammers would have helped make it more useful). Cordoba was intended as a flipper; but in hindsight it was more likely to be flipped itself and I had to cram cultural buildings in the city just to get control over my tiles. As you can see that isn't working out so grandly at this moment. I'm not even sure about that city way over to the east.

And here it just kind of... stopped. I never actually got around to finishing this game, which sucks because it was far from over. I had gotten to Liberalism first, and I probably could have taken out Lizzie and rode from there to victory. I just sort of forgot to do so. And then I threw away my notes.

Because my notes are gone I have no idea how I did with most of the goals and can only estimate based on my pictures:

No AI Civ Eliminated
No Citadels Built
1 Wonder (Colossus) built by 500 AD
Not sure how many GPs (not counting free ones) by 1500 AD
28 as Largest City (Madrid) by 1500 AD

I'm sure everyone else floored me here.

Hmmm. It looks like you must've *really* beelined Liberalism if you got that before Ironworking. lol

This one might've been interesting to play further. With you getting Iron and Elizabeth getting Nationalism, it could've been a bit of a struggle. Kudos for making the attempt here.
