I didn't take too good of notes on this one; I got a bit bored with it and annoyed at my screw-ups about 50 turns in and played a lot looser. The Silicoids were far and away the biggest threat for me; I did a poor job of cutting them off, and researched somewhat haphazardly early on, stunting my expansion. I also made some questionable diplomatic decisions, making peace early on when I should have been using war to expand, but I didn't want to divert so many resources to build huge ships. I finally went on the offensive around 2382, and take a few worlds from the Psilons. I was at peace with the rocks, but they break the NAP while I'm at war with the brains, and I realize their ships are terrible and start taking over their planets too. By 2450, I have over half the planets in the galaxy, and I end up genociding the Meklar and Psilons on my way to victory in 2500. I made a lot of mistakes, but luckily the Silicoids were the biggest AI instead of the Psilons, which made my life much easier. I built a few large ships early on for defense, but almost all of my conquering was done with huges. I might have a screen shot of some of my later designs at home, but I'm writing this up at work...
