Does anyone have any objections to that?

Agreed.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

No objections from me, but it is a shame to end it this way. There is still a solo in the cards if I look at the map.

End game, please. I think only TT still cares about it, and he's busy.

Sorry Nakor, like I posted before your running the game was fine, but people losing interest is the risk when dealing with a bunch of first-timers. It's just not my kind of game. I hate the combat "mechanics", such as they are, and I see very little incentive in putting in the effort needed for a solo win. Risk does such things much better, and it doesn't force you to pretend to care about other people while spinning sinister plots in order to take over the world.

Anyway, well-played TT. I know that you were planning on stabbing me- you're kind of a transparent schemer lol - but the way I was moving units you'd probably have done some damage anyway. You certainly seemed to be the only person who really embraced the spirit of the game, and you did well with a shitty start. I have no idea how this game became popular when it's so obviously poorly balanced.

For my own part I think I only "stabbed" anyone twice. Bounced England on the first turn, which was pretty minor really, and then took Holland when Germany was falling apart. I've got nothing against forming conspiracies, as my PBEM record will attest, but since doing well in Diplomacy for me doesn't inspire nearly the same feeling of triumph as doing well in Civ, I could never garner the interest in really working the phones. Plus I do like to actually have friends in these games- you can win a Tower victory or whatever in FFH without necessarily fighting everyone.

Anyway, thanks to Nakor for hosting! Maybe some vets could pick up the game where we left it if they actually care to show off what could have been done.

Ok, the game is hereby ended in a 3-way draw between France, Italy and Russia. Good game, Bob, TT and Gaspar.

The thing is it is balanced by the diplomatic interactions. Yes the positions of the middle powers is bad but as everyone wants to win it is balanced by pointing to the biggest thread = using Diplomacy.

BTW take a look on the popularity of FFH-mod which is also very poorly balanced wink

EditPS: Nothing wrong if you don't like it wink. This game is either loved or shunned. There is little middleground.
