Without knowing the map, theres a few things that i'm hoping to get around doing on this map to play a bit out of normal

1. No Creative ... going down the list i've been playing that 4 times (well ... 3½ since 28 died while it was still in the startout phase) out of 7(6½)

2. No Industrious ... unless noone else does anyways ... both 29g and the newly 35 is going at it so to curb a trend

...

Isabella might not be a bad pick ... as for Civ ... given that it appearently is going to be AW ... something with an UU not to late might be a good idea ... France for fast draftable Musketeers? Mongolia for hyperstrong mounts (paired up with Charismatic ... say Washington Cha/exp)

thats quite some food ... Argiculture should keep a worker busy for quite some time

almost with that much, considering looking into trying to go a Religous economy, in part since with that much Irrigated food, theres less of a deterrence of early Religions.

only Argiculture/Mysticism is Inca which is banned per default so thats not an option, and with this kind of map Argiculture is almost a musthave

Wheel would probably be best, as mining doesn't look as hot (althrough Slavery looks nice its not needed right off the bat, given no forests worth mention), hunting is nearly always crap (specially when theres no camp specials) and fishing is useless ...

that'll ammount to

Babylon -- stronger archer and more health? ... NEXT!!

Egypt -- Obelisks might help support a Religous push so thats certainly an option and WC's are one of the best ancient/classical UUs

France -- Already mentioned that Musketeers are an interesting edition to CTON, and given that i can spot mountains to West and Southeast, and desert across the northen frontier, the quick moving might help defensive messures later on ... Salon is meh, but given CTON i doubt i'd get up to getting to build them anyhows

Ottomans -- Jans is good ... Hamman i'm kinda ambivalent on this map ... theres appearently no need for Health (i'm counting +7health beyond baseline and fresh water) so its really just a building that gives happiness instead ... which is gained cheaper by eyeballing earlish Monarchy which a religous push would support nicely

Sumer -- While i had succes with them in 29g, i doubt they're going to pull their weight in this one since the maintainence is going to be way easier, and Vultures aren't that hot again against humans.

---

Egypt or France ... since i suscept they'll be contended i'm thinking about picking Civ first and then traits afterwards Egypt if AW (just as much as denial), France if CTON

---
Expansive -- always nice ... cheaper Granery (which gives tons of health this time around), although the starting worker wouldn't be much faster off, unless i'm sinking some c into it by working a 1f2h

Spirituel -- leads well into a religous, and gives tons of flexibility

Financial -- looks relatively good on this since there appear to be fairly rivered, but as I generally aren't sold on Fin then ... but still certainly worthwhile

Industrious -- as mentioned before i'm leaning towards not picking it, unless i'm one of the last (if not last, which it seems like since i'm likely going to pick civ first) picking traits and noone took it allready (doubt it) ... even then, i'm considering going after specialized wonders so i might get away chasing those even without industrious,

Organized -- is looking fairly useless from whats known (no use of lighthouses, little use of Courthouses)

Philosophical -- Bit ambivalent to be honest, never feels i get my due out of the trait investment ... and if picking Spirituel Pacifism is a good replacement

Imperalistic -- Setters is going to be built with food, not hammers, at least early on ... next!

Charismatic -- Mountuments is Happiness ... and extra happiness ... at least early on it appears that happiness is the effective cap, and not the soft cap that health can be ...

So ...

Isabella, Pacal (doubt he's still around by that time) or Mansa is all good guesses

oh well ... got 4'th slot so picked Pacal (surprised that he was still around to be honest) and France, not a halfbad pick, althrough i hope i don't start next to Scooter who picked Egypt.

Initial startout i guess is, techwise, somewhere in the line of Pottery -> Animal Husbandry -> Mining -> (Mysticism -> Meditation/Polytheism) -> Bronze Working ... BW earlier if my neigthbour seems aggessive

i'm likely going to SIP and start out with Worker -> Granery -> Settler -> Warrior ... depending on whats happening around

And the Houses are off

guess we know what the "somewhat cramped" means ... Mountains to the east and west, desert to the north (wanna be nile?) and what appears to be a tightening of the mountain ranges and tundra to the south ... guess the first couple of cities are to be packed like sardines

scouted a bit around, and yes ... we're cramped ... the mountains goes in a V around us (the southenmost looking like they are the bottom row on the egde), and to the north (not on with the sceenshot since i'm to tired, but border popped) is desert ... not much land to work with ... i'm tentatively suggesting cities 3s (have deer, can steal corn as needed), 3e1n (have sheep, can steal rice as needed) and 2w3n (have a handful of flood plains) as it otherwise doesn't look good ... warrior is rerouting to explorer north to see how deep the desert is

fast forwarding to t5 (played t4 and had planed to post after i had done a few other things, and lo and behold ... another save not even 20 minutes after i sent the previous one)

finished Pottery, started Animal Husbandry ... Warrior have used the time to be rerouted to the north, following the eastern mountain face ... not working Plain Forest is on purpuse, since it wouldn't get my worker out faster, but slowing Pottery.

Any comments onto my tentative City locations? (yes ... i know ... forgot resouse bubbles, but nothing new that can't be seen on previous map)

Fastest game Ever!!

turn 9

Finished Worker and is dumping hammers into a Garnery while growing to size 2 (current exstimate) where i'm going to build a settler ... also decided that after AH is finished i'm going to go directly towards Bronze Working since Slavery appears so good ... Worker is currently farming corn after having spent a single turn roading the plain tile to the south of the capital

changed my dot plan due to gems discovered to the northeast ... now that i consider ... maybe the southenmost should be moved 1e

t15

decided to grow to size 4 before building a settler ... if math is correct i can get away with getting to BronzeWorking and revolt to slavery and 2pop whip it ...

forgot to take a screen but there's horses 1w of the Oasis

also drew the 'bad' luck of meeting Scooters border (althrough he can't see me yet) to the east ... still thinking about if it should try to push attemping to semichoke (its AW anyways) or swing away hoping he doesn't notice me yet and haven't figured out the map
