Buying a New Car

Speaker Wrote:Anyone have any tips on buying a used car? We are thinking to buy a (something like) 3-year old car, for about half the price. I did that with my current car, a Subaru Impresza WRX 2003 model, bought in the winter of 2006. It had 40,000 miles on it, and saved me $15,000, and I have put another 70,000 miles on, and it's still running great.

My wife has 3 possible cars she is thinking about. So....how to get the best price?

Hey! My used car was a 2006 Saab 9-2x Aero (aka WRX wagon clone) bought in 2010. Ours also had 40k (ok, 45k) and so far we've put 60k more on. And, come to think of it, we paid $15,000 under the original price too!

Anyways, good choice!

Other than that, I have no secret tips. It looks like you did well the first time around. My only advice is buy private > dealer.

Also, I am far from an expert on these matters but I understand the 2012 Civics are much worse than previous year models. Consumer Reports dropped its ranking by several points and no longer recommends it.

I think this site basically simplifies the process of the video.
