Seven got 3 pop, and a tech - I'm thinking the tech is possibly Polytheism. He also built another 4k unit - I'm putting him down as building spears, it could be that or chariots.
NicolAT got 1 pop & 3k units, putting that down as an archer.
!Mackoti got 1 pop & a tech, putting that down as Archery to use up all 6k of soldiers.
Serdoa got 3 pop. He also revolted to Organised Religion, so must've got Monotheism ... reorganised a few tech assignments. I now think he got Poly on his T47, Mono on his T57. I've also just noticed I have him down as 1 turning a Classical era tech on T58 ... but it still feels like the only way to make the score number work (17 points = 5 for pop, 12 for tech). Still not really sure what that is so leaving it as Aesthetics.
And Serdoa also built 4k of units, perhaps another chariot.

Yep, you're right. I had checked that several times, but I looked again now & I saw where I'd missed some land points. 11 for land, plus 6 for a tech - so assuming it was Fishing he 1 turned. That makes more sense.
Got some weirdnessess with power now, because he didn't get 1k for pop that turn, will have to see if I can work through it and figure it out.

I haven't forgotten about this - it's more that I think my data gathering may have broken down irretrievably. Land & Pop I knew I had problems with, but I've got weird artifacts in the Power numbers too, which means pretty much I'd be just guessing about techs. (And sometimes guessing IF it's a tech or a pop increase in the score line).

Wow! So your second city was farther to the southwest than I planned to settle at any point during the game. I realize it's technically your spot, but the way the terrain was full of well-connected, rivered land to the north, with strategic resources in that direction too, made it so IMO the natural border was right about where you put that city. I thought the hills to the north of that were clearly yours, while the hills to the south were fairly clearly the southern neighbor's.
I suspect the way you scouted at the beginning had a big influence on your choice of settling direction. You didn't see the convenient horses spot - which would be able to see the second-ring borders of your own city, and is only 3 chariot-turns away from it! - until you'd already made your decision. The ensuing warfare obviously caused some problems for you.
I would also say, it seems like you overvalued claiming land and food resources compared to commerce. There's just so much land on this map, there is more than enough for everyone to be happy. So claiming land isn't so important until the midgame, and the fastest way to the midgame definitely involves a greater focus on tech.

Yup. I would have benefitted greatly from a test game on your script to get a better feel for the map type, size, maintenance costs and resource density.
