Sennheiser headsets are the best but really expensive.
For close to your max budget there are:
- SteelSeries Siberia v2. I had these. They feel good and have a decent quality audio and mic. It comes with an extension cord which is really handy, it was way too short without it, for my use at least. Biggest problem with this headset is the fact that they break easily, so that sound will only come from one side of it. It is likely a fail in design because a ton of people seem to get the same problem after using these for a year or two. Other SteelSeries sets could work too, but I wrote about the one I have experience with.
- Turtle Beach headset. One of the lower price ones. Haven't used them but I keep reading positive things about them.
- Creative Fatal1ty. I had these. There's only one reason to suggest these is that they are really cheap. Yet they still do the job. Just lower quality and uncomfortable in longer sessions.
- Logitech G330, which I use atm. They are light and more comfortable than others I've used. Also the best mic I've used. I got them really cheap for just 15 euros, but they are normally closer to 50. Probably not the most durable headset, but mine are still working after a year of use.
Btw since I don't have new gen consoles I don't know how the compatibility there works. Find out if you plan to use them for consoles or for both.
Also wireless headsets are much more expensive, probably can't even get one with your budget.
