[SPOILERS] Pindicator, God-King of the Egyptians

I think Ichabod just won the game. Depends what the other continent is like.

So Azza is gone, and I'm teching away. Because I don't have any desire to resist bitterly.

Trying to get a settler down in the south to grab the Pearls. But the barbarians have something to say about that.

All right lurkers, time to ask the big question:

Was i really screwed from the start or did i employ faulty strategy?

Screwed. Your start location was so bad. Someone had double your food production 16 to 8 on turn 24. Building your way out of that hole was nearly impossible. And you started in the middle of everybody else and got attacked by Azza. No way to recover from that in a non-diplo game. Hanging Gardens was probably your best shot and a good try, but wasn't enough.

Stonehenge was your only bad move IMO, you didn't need marginally efficient faith production, you needed something drastic to break out of your hole. (But I'm not sure what. Civ 5 doesn't really have any explosive slingshotty gambits, well aside from Keshiks.)

The only thing I could think of doing differently in that same position is just to go immediately for war.  Once I got blocked out of a 2nd city, I could have settled somewhere with better production, and spammed archers while saving gold and teching straight to CBs.  But I hate the idea of going all in so early in a game like this, where the idea is to showcase Civ V pbem.  Rushing someone seems like ruining the fun.  Or perhaps I'm just a builder at heart.

Sorry for not reporting better.  I lost a lot of ambition to do anything constructive once I realized what my situation was.
