[SPOILERS]Flauros needs no advice!

Yeah, I tested with moroi so I blood'ed them. Had to, crap odds otherwise. Last couple of guys got 50% odds without, 70% with.

Yellow actually took peace for 100 gold. I guess I'll live at least 10 turns more. Abandoned sanitation for masonry-construction, and finishing up governor's mansions. I'll see if I get time to grab a siege workshop or two and output some catapults before he comes.

Just making a post for anyone following the game to see my POV.

After my aborted attack on Yellow (which still made him use his worldspell) Yellow declared war on Thessalonica of the Elohim. Elohim has now top stats, great food and mfg and gnp too. Everything except for power. The attack only lasted one round, then elohim popped worldspell and shut out the Golden Horde.

A turn or two later Yellow attacked me.

So far he has burned two cities, both size 8. They used to be in the south here. I have struck back, killed 3 mounted mercs last turn and 1 more this turn (I had some moroi with burning blood to spare). My remaining mobile counterattackng force is pictured.

Actually I have several bloodpets scattered around, but I'd like to keep a few in every city, the mobility of his mounted mercs is terrifying. I aim to kill as many units as I can, I'll keep my forces intact and strike back when I can do maximum damage (wiping a tile clean is good). Saving money to upgrade.

However, I'm not sure if Yellow will be angry about this:

This city has one bloodpet defender. One mounted merc will take it next turn. It is utterly indefensible. I offered it to Dain the Suttwallan as a gift, as it has no useful purpose in my empire. Delaying a mounted merc one turn? No point. Maybe Dain has a use for it, rather him than Yellow getting raze cash.

Not going to get into the habit of gifting stuff away just to spite an invader, rest of my cities can at least pump out bloodpets every turn till they croak.

If I really wanted to spite him, I would gift all cities to HK of the Elohim, they would be protected by sanctuary for quite a few rounds and then HK would probably win the game for sure (not sure what plan he has, if he has the tech to build some +power stuff soonish)

Anyway, not too many turns to live - Yellow can pretty much decide how fast he wants to take my lands by press-ganging as many mounted mercs into service. If he hasn't already turned off tech and is just buying units he should...

Have a tiny problem: Seems Imageshack is going to cost real money from now on. My free time is out, so I must decide if I wanna pay and continue using it, or switch to some other free service. I expect that my old images will in time be lost, so I guess I decide if my previous threads with photos in them is worth 20 $ or no.

I guess no...

Anyway, pictureless updates is the order of the day, then.

Yellow moved a stack of mounted mercs to take one of my underdefended cities. It was out of catapult-range, so I burning bloodied my moroi strike force and attacked. Killed 8 mercs, lost 6 moroi. And I'll lose 2/3 of my 8 survivors to barbarianism before too long...unless I find a suicide mission to sent them off on.

Yellow can buy 2-3 mounted mercs per round (makes 320-something gold) but the more time & resources he spends on me, the more other players can catch up. I think the game is still reasonably open after Hippus overrun my lands in 5-10 turns - Elohim still has lands to peacefully expand into, and recently converted to Order as well.

Burning Blood units have a 10% chance of healing completely.

Yes, that'll help. But 20% to go rogue. So I figure I'll lose 5-6 to barbarianism and have 2-3 get well again.

Hopefully they'll have more chances to kill horselord units instead.

Amazingly, I had zero units descend into barbarism, but _two_ decided that their blood was not that burning anymore and that they felt better now, thank you. Had a stroke of luck there, will not complain now even if the rest of them succumb.

Nothing much happening, turns are very slow, about 3 days for a turn. Hippus is nowhere to be seen, he is probably regrouping somewhere. I've 18 Moroi (6 with burning blood active), 11 bloodpets and 3 catapults.

Dain is increasing power, has good production but not good food or GNP.
Elohim has great food, middle production, half GNP of Hippus.
(Hippus being FIN and running consumption means GNP is a bit high, but on the other hand, they need no more tech, just gazillion mounted mercs.)

If I were Yellow now I'd focus on HK/Elohim - I'm no threat offensively to anyone, so if he can hurt his top opponent while his own lands remain intact he will probably force a concession.

How long does Elohim worldspell last on quick anyway?
