Adventure 4: Unaghy´s report COMPLETED

I thought I would lose, I didn't think I would lose this badly. Knew I shouldn't have been so passive. Good job regardless.
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

I read your report and you took different, peaceful approach than me. It always harder compete for GP with other AI´s, while they are freely expanding and building their economy. My decision was to deny possibility them to recruit GP by lowering the amount of GP point they can generate. However I wasnt too aggressive - I could have eliminated each of them to block also possibility to patronage GP.

Nice job! I didn't think full on aggression was a viable approach. Figured it would slow development (and earning GPP) but you showed me wrong! Were you able to build a lot of districts and builds between unit builds or did you rely more on districts/building for GPPs already built in the captured cities? Also, nice job on selling great works, I didn't think of doing that for more cash.

I have actually built most of my units in ancient era under agoge and kept upgrading them. Later I have simply bought few units to create armys from corps or simply built one or two. Captured cities were focusing on districts immediatelly. One disadvantage in this approach (warfare) was negative relations with other civs so I could not sell that many great works as I was expecting.

Now I have realized I have not mentioned how much point I got for all GP earned by T250 (73 points), though as one GP earns 1 point I think its pretty straight forward point count...

Also, I forgot to mention that I did not win on T250, however I was close to culture victory (20-30 turns away) & domination (1 capital city remaining to be captured - the one from Norway).

Nicely done, recovering pretty strongly from bad early luck with Stockholm conquest and dogpile!

Curious about selling the great works to the AI - were you getting a lot of gold you couldn't from resource sales? To me it seemed that once the empire large, there was enough surplus lux and strat resources to sell for basically all the available AI gold.

I've never used Siege Towers, rams always seemed better to me, curious if I'm missing something
-Rams at earlier tech and bit cheaper
-You have to kill the extra HP of the walls (usually 50 assuming classical/medieval war)
-but the city strength drops a bit when the walls down, and you stop the city from shooting your units after that.

If you use all siege towers and don't destroy the walls, do you get them on capture?  I can see that being useful if the AI still has units around.

It wasn´t that much from selling great works - 15-30 GPT. I mean, if I could sell more, but usually I could sell 1-2 GW to single AI and most of the time they would give me 1GPT only due to big warmongering penalty. For resources it was even worse - once warmongerring penalty reached certain level I couldnt sell them for more than 1GPT, some even did not want to trade with me at all.

Siege tower are great if dont use range/artillery units - I was worried of range units to be far behind and melee units would just handle city attack themselves, while range units will take care of defending units. Remember, siege towers allows you to completely ignore walls and attacking city center directly, so you dont need to kill the extra HP of the walls as you are expecting.

Only problem is that with walls ignored, city can still shooting on your units, so I was forced to shoot them down anyway. Due to this I cant confirm if walls stays intact after capturing city...

Anyway, I realized only late, that best practice is actually one battering ram and also one siege tower together in city attack as it allows you to efficiently attacking city regardless of unit type.
