The new CLG team looks pretty formidable. They just went 3 for 3 scrimming against TSM. Chauster/Doublelift dominated bottom lane, and SaintVicious was the clear leader/signal caller. For the first time in a long time (ever?), they played like a cohesive team. I think this shake up, and the decision to listen to SaintVicious' calls no matter what, may make CLG the team to beat once again.

I remember when I started playing, it was rather easy to acquire basic knowlegde about every champion in the game. Right now, I couldn't really tell you the name of any skill from Riven, Shyvana, Skarner, Fizz or Yorick.

The constant champion rebalancing doesn't help either. I mean it's fun that a lot of champions are viable, but sometimes your favourite champion drops 2 tiers and suddenly you are basically forced to get the newest FOTM tier 1 champion if you want to play ranked.

That's the thing though: to be a very good player, you have to be able to play a lot of different champs. You can't be locked into one or two, because over time they'll rise and fall with the metagame. Or just get banned in ranked, and then what do you do? Look at Speaker: he mained Malphite to level 30, then played Shen for ages on end, then had Miss Fortune as his main AD carry. All of them have been terrible for months now. If you want to be good, you have to adapt with the metagame and keep shifting to new champs.

Again, I'm not saying that's necessarily for the best, but it's the way League of Legends works. Of course, you don't have to follow the metagame either, and can play just for fun. Just don't expect to achieve a high rating that way...

Amazing how much of a difference working as a team makes.

I don't know if this is the proper place for this, but what do you guys think about solo queue? It becoming more and more depressing the more I play it since if you're unable to coordinate the team or you get players that have less experience or they disconnect, it becomes more anti-fun. frown

But that's why I think the argument "I spent 5 months on learning jungling intricacies for nothing" is invalid, since the game constantly revolves around (sometimes major) changes in champions, items, strategies.

I did actually listen to Stonewalls podcast about the new jungle and I was disappointed. He would probably be a very bad game designer.
The gold level and above players need to realize that they make up ~the top 5% of LoL's active population.
Now granted, maybe there need to be changes to the new jungle and it probably isn't perfect. But all that complaining about "how every noob can jungle without a problem now" reminds me of the people who claim that LoL is only for dumb casuals because it doesn't feature the DOTA deny mechanic. rolleye

Not if you duo queue. wink Makes things so much better imo if you really are determined to play ranked games.

Sup guys, making a quick comeback here smile I just transferred my account to EU West, to have a better chance of finding an English speaking team and to follow my good friend who did the same. I'm looking for some LoL friends since I just abandoned most of mine. If anyone here plays on EU West add me (Summoner name: Leon Silverberg). Thanks, hopefully you don't mind me coming back to ask this wink

Oh and about CLG. Not sure if they made the right choice. Doublelift ain't that bad, but Chauster really gets wasted in support role. Besides, it'll take him time to pick up the new role and Elementz would have certainly done much better. If someone had to be replaced, it should have been Jiji who's clealy their weakest link atm. Anyway, it's still exciting to see some changes in a top team. Some fresh blood never hurts. The real reason why CLG might become a dominate team again is if they manage to overcome their issues in communication. Sure they did great against TSM in those scrims, but it's not the same as a tourny match when things get heated. And apparently HotshotGG was only quiet because he was on the phone lol.

So, all the high ELOs are going 5-man Heals. I totally called the return of the push-squad.
