If anyone has the chance, I would highly recommend tracking down the Vods of the Dreamhack 2012 games between CLG.EU and M5. Some very well played games.

4 videos of CLG eu games at dreamhack edit - they are fairly low quality

Dantski Wrote:4 videos of CLG eu games at dreamhack Nice find, thank you. Can anybody with an hour (!!!) to spare review the first M5/CLG game, and explain why M5 shouldn't split push to get into the base? Anivia can only park herself in front of one tower at a time - so you should (?) be able to split off a few champs to shove another lane in?
Finally got to go on a tuesday night game =)
I`m really curious to see your comments on spectator mode Sullla, hopefully you had many remarks about my noobish play of Morgana. I was frustrated cause since I`m on the road i don`t have my microphone with me so we couldn`t communicate during team selection and since there were problems with game chat I kept talking to myself and they couldn`t talk to me either. So I ended up taking mid from Varis. Also about the build I was going for that you didn`t like, those were noobish mistakes. The chain vest after hourglass was a missclick, i was nervous and I wanted some magic resist to deal with Karthus, so I actually wanted to get a negatron cloak but bought the vest instead by mistake. Anyway, appologies to Varis for taking his spot, but i didn`t mean to, it was just a bad night for the server, especially the chat server. Edit after watching the stream: You are totally right going for magic resist at that point in the game was a mistake. This particular mistake comes from the lack of confidence of a new player. I spent the whole game trying to not cause my team to lose because of me. I knew Karthus was farming much better then me not only because he just last hits better but also because he was getting camps and I wasn`t. Then again I just didn`t have the confidence to go out towards camps like he was doing and WW was actually farming the camps much more then Nocturne was. So later in the game after I got hourglass I kept thinking about getting abyssal scepter because I was afraid to screw up and get destroyed =). Although now I see that was actually a poor choice on my part and i would have probably ended up with more kills rather then all assists if I had gone for deathcap. On the other hand that ward that I kept putting on the entrance to our wraiths I got from one of the latest streams you did (i think amumu jungle) so kudos! kayapo Wrote:Finally got to go on a tuesday night game =) Thanks a lot for playing with us! The mid thing is fine. I really wanted Mid, but server issues and difficulty chatting - it's an understandable mixup since Kog is normally AD anyway. Anyway, everyone makes noob mistakes - you played just fine. We all kinda sucked it up a bit in some of the positioning for at least one of the fights. Plus, I almost threw the game away at the end there, which was the worst play out of anyone in that team. You had some really great plays and binds that won us a few fights. In fact, you playing as well as you did while being out of your comfort zone playing on a trip is pretty amazing - I know I get thrown off pretty hard if I'm not at my normal computer/environment.
I've been playing a lot with some guys I typically run around playing Xbox Live shooters with. I am still pretty bad at the game. I am trying to work in Attack-Move and SmartCast into my mechanical repertoire, because I think both could make me a more effective player eventually.
I mainly have been playing bot games with the free champs just to learn what each champion does, that way when I see them in PvP, there are fewer surprises. They added Karthus to the bot rotation this week, and that character seem OP to me. Easy to farm, global ult, decent harass. I am level 21 and saved up enough IP to buy three different sets of Tier 3 runes, one for a tank build, one for an AP build, and one for an AD build. Next I plan to buy some health quints and try to put together a basic jungle rune page, and last will be a support page. My friends and I (they are all ranked between 9-16) typically win in the PvP queue, but that is mainly a function of us being on Ventrillo and usually avoiding the mass feeding that often goes on at that level of play. I am not particularly good with any characters, but I really like Morgana, Vlad, and Shen. Graves is free this week and he seems really strong. Xerath and Skarner were free last week and I enjoyed them. Mundo goes where he pleases, but I find he is hard to gank with early for me, because without a good rune setup for him, I am almost always flirting with death in the jungle early game due to his masochistic tendencies.

There are two main general rune pages. 9x attack speed reds 9x armor yellows 9x mr flat/scaling scaling blues 3x movement speed 9x flat attack damage reds 9x armor yellows 9x mr flat/scaling blues 3x flat attack damage reds. The first can be used on all junglers with some success. Its typically used on "support" junglers such as Maokai and Alistar, fast clear junglers who don't need the flat AD such as Mundo and Phoenix Udyr, and AP junglers such as Amumu(although you can put armor instead of attack speed on reds). The second is used on junglers who benefit from the flat AD, which is your Lee Sin, Shaco, Olaf, Nocturne, etc. You can create specific special rune pages for specific junglers that dedicated junglers do, but those two pages should cover everything you need for jungle. It also helps that the flat AD page is probably the most optimal setup for AD carry bottom, and can be used for top lane with ease.
I see the HP quints used on so many builds, I was just imagining that they would be good on Mundo due to his health as mana setup.

I don't think anyone really uses HP quints anymore.
AP: Flat AP AD: Flat AD Bruiser/Jungle: Some combination of flat AD, movement speed, HP regen most likely. Support: Gold/10 "There is no wealth like knowledge. No poverty like ignorance." |
