Hey now, this is Riot. Considering their server state after patches, I'm completely confident that if anyone can break a system completely with each new patch, it's them.

I think there's an extent to which the existence of a functional semi-sanctioned third-party replay system moved this down Riot's list of priorities. I think if LoLReplay didn't exist we'd have had this long before now.
That's not to say it's excusable, just that it's probably what happened...

Wasn't aware of this, unsure if it's already been brought up somewhere in this monster thread, seems to work well:

Its main attraction is that it allows you to watch the pros without having to deal with the download requirements of streaming, good if you're on a cap.

Little, pretty marginal annoucement:
The finals for this one very small tournament my EUW team is playing are scheduled for 22 February (though knowing the crappy organization it might be postponed). Our team is formed of 1200-1600 Elo players, the enemy team is kinda the same deal except they have a 2k elo top lane. We're still confident we can beat them though; in the semifinal match we had a 1800 elo mid lane whom Piotr managed to defeat in two games without any deaths. We're gonna take a nec hercules contra plures approach basically in that we should be a better team overall. I'll post a stream link when the games actually happen. Hope people will come around to watch me embarass myself in bot lane. =D

No, but if the first game goes swimmingly and we get a feel for their bot lane, we might pull out the support LeBlanc =)

Anybody have a quick and dirty overview of how to combat stealth in season 3?
Just now, I found myself playing against a team with Teemo/Shaco. When my Oracle's Elixir expired after 5 minutes, I realized I haven't been keeping up with that part of the meta.

Don't die?
But really, the only clean way is either strategic Pinks for the big fights/traps/laning, or an Oracles. Pinks tend to be much more cost effective assuming you have a feel for when and where you'll engage them and draw them into the area, or plop one down just as you start the teamfight. Oracles are good for hunting them (and wards) down, but horrendous defensively. They'll just avoid you.
Sidenote, with the advent of limited Oracles and the Sightstone, wards are super plentiful now. So an Oracles can recoup quite a bit of cost if you hunt down some wards.
