Okay, this was pretty terrible, though from what you said F&I, maybe I did okay? I ended up losing 3 fugitives, 1 huntsman, 1 highwayman, one loyal lvl 3 dwarf, a griffin, and a ton of thugs. Also after I sent the cleric up to help heal the undead, they killed the cleric at home so he teleported to the undead too.
First turn I thought, "well with this thin ass line we're gonna get massacred." So I actually attacked the closest enemies and killed few. On the orc turn (which took forever) they got hugely lucky hits on the fugitives and killed one and were able to trap some other units. Then the undead got MASSACRED I mean all of those units were too close to the orcs. The mages were getting destroyed. Dwarves, well I just let the game do its moves in peace I don't even know what happened.
When I got the Undead turn I pulled everything back to the hills for 50% def. I also recruited a wave of cannon fodder in the form of troll whelps... but I realized on the next turn I should just recruit bigger trolls because they're all cannon fodder anyway. Anyway they pulled back and are sort of holding their own now on higher ground.
The elves I recruited and stationed along the tree line. They're gonna be huge.
On my next turn I retreated. Bruindane says "Uh we should siege them. There is too many pouring out to face head on." And I say, "duh." I recall whatever we have left and recruit all thugs from here out. Cannon fodder basically but we can't recruit much else. The griffins suck to and get destroyed by crossbows.
I played it over 2 days. It took forever for all the orc units to move and it took forever to move all of our units. I gave up halfway wthrough and had to come back to it because I was so frustrated. The whole thing is an exercise in beating yourself over the head.
