[SPOILERS] Team EggHeads: DMOC and TeddyKGB (Now Lurker-Friendly!)

(September 30th, 2013, 11:35)DMOC Wrote: No matter what we do, are we clear on these points?

1. Horses must be hooked up by turn 57, and we should have at least 1 chariot out soon.
2. Carnegie Mellon will whip a settler on turn 55, and put the overflow into a 1-turn granary on turn 56?
3. Have 2 workers improve the horse and wheat in Stanford, then split the workers and send 1 north to MIT/CM area, while the other stays in the southern CM/Stanford area?
4. Turn 49, revolt to slavery.

1. Done. T57 Horses connected.
T59 (1 chop) or T60 (no chop) optimal timing for 1st Chariot from MIT, I think.
Fastest possible chariot from MIT on T58 but it would screw workers micro with city#4. Or we don't produce 6th worker on T55. I'll give you options.

2. Done. There is 2 options with food distribution between CM and Stanford, but in both CM produce Settler(T56) -> Granary(T57)

3. We'll have 5 workers on T52. And 3 of them will improve Stanford.
T54: Chop done into granary; Horses not improved but connected
T55: Wheat(3/5)
T56: Wheat(5/5); Horses(1/4)
T57: Horses(4/4) and connected
T58: 2 workers start cottage in CM (overlapped with Stanford); 3rd worker go Mine/Chop/Road something

4. Done. T49 seems like the best turn to revolt. I'll quick sim revolt on T54 later but I doubt it would be better.

Diplo exchange with team M&M:
Quote:Hi Asterix and Maga,

Thank you for information about your NAP deal with India.
Could you tell us about your deals with other two teams? I'm interested about LP (team Orgy) especially, cause he is our neighbour.

I'm assuming all info you and me exchange about team CareBears is private between our teams. We defenitely won't share any info from you with them.

Here is our C&D on team CareBears based on score and graphs:
T01 - City#1
T10 - Agri
T19 - +1pop
T21 - Land score inc
T23 - BW; +1pop; revolt to Slavery
T26 - Land score inc; whip -1pop
T28 - City#2
T32 - Wheel
T36 - +1pop
T37 - City#3
T38 - +1pop
T40 - whip -1pop; -1pop (in 2 different cities)
T42 - City#4
T43 - Meditation or Polytheism: Religion founded in city#2
T45 - +1pop; +1pop
T47 - whip -1pop
T48 - Land score inc (city#2 was planted on T28)

They did a lot of chops as well. Nice start for them and well played.

As for team Orgy and Lord Parkin, you can read his PB4 thread. That game is very similar to PB14: full diplo and LP played IND leader.
My impression of him:
- He is very good MP player with lot of experience. (Actually, I think he is favorite to win PB14)
- He likes to build many wonders. (He did in PB4 and PB7)

I don't think StoneHenge was 'ultra early'.
LP grow capital to size5, whip 2pop into settler (with big overflow probably) and add some chop(s) into SH.
I didn't update C&D on him lately, but their opening was:
Hunting -> AH
WorkBoat -> Worker

If you have some info on LP you could share with our team, it would be great.

Quote:Hello Teddy,

Thank you for very detailed information on Care Bears, I agree with all your findings about their techs and also cannot tell whether they got Meditation or Polytheism. Maga kept more detailed notes on other civs, that is what she had on Orgy Nized:

Orgynized: Fishing + Agriculture, Hunting (T7), Animal Husbandry (T16), Mining (T22 )

They also clearly got Bronze Working. I suspect Lord Parkin is beeling Pottery know and got The Wheel turn 45, although I did not have much time to look into this and have less experience with demohacking than Maga. I agree that Lord Parkin is by far favorite to win this game, I have heard he won many Pitbosses already and that IND is his favorite trait and that he plays it very well.

Btw, I am ready to start negotiations on extending our NAP - you guys are very nice and far away wink - so I see no reason not to extend our collaboration longer.

I will have rather crazy situation at work until Oct. 7th, so may be not very communicative. Let me know if you would be interested in more detailed screenshots of the area around you. You can see from the overview screenshot what parts I have seen so far.

All the best,

Asterix

Domestic on T50:
- 3 workers finish roads
- 1 worker continue chop
- CM puts overflow hammers into settler and start warrior on T51.

As I said there is two options of food distribution between CM and Stanford. It mostly depends on how fast we need warrior from CM. Are we want it on T54 or it could be delayed till T58?

Another important option is MIT build queue.

- Option 1. Build worker#6 on T55. We had a lot of work to do for workers, so its not 'too many workers'. But this option is low on warriors to fogbust city#4 site and chariot on T58 from MIT can't be done without delaying something else.

- Option 2. MIT start warrior or settler on T52. Could switch settler to granary on T54. Could build chariot on T58 with 1chop and overflow from warrior.

Food distribution between CM and Stanford.

Option 1. Warrior on T54 from CM.

Option 2. Warrior after T58 from CM.

With both options CM will grow to size5 on T60.

Well played, Teddy. goodjob

With the options considered, I am strongly in favor of Option 2. My understanding is that MIT will start on another worker on turn 50, but due to the chop we'll have a new option to build on turn 52. We desperately need defense units out there, and even one chariot can do wonders for barbarian protection.

-Good catch on putting overflow into settler, I didn't think of that for CM. But I think we do want to grow to size 5 and perform a 2-pop whip on turn 55.

-So next turn (turn 50(!)), worker actions are straightforward. Do them, THEN found Stanford (starts on a warrior, right?). We can keep our warriors nearby if needed. CM puts 1 turn into settler, MIT into a worker.

Random thought: what are team My Little Marathon Pony doing? They still don't have a second city founded?

Random thought 2: Diplo situation seems interesting now. Unfortunately there's nothing concrete we can do this early, but perhaps by turn 100...

I agree with MIT go Worker#5(T52)->Warrior(T54) ... Warrior(T57)->Chariot(T58) with one chop. We need fogbust city#4 location and protect MIT from NorthWest (Cow tile is vulnerable), so we can use more warriors. One other thing - unit costs could be a factor, but we should be able to complete writing on T61.

- I didn't build PH mine, so I had to put overflow from settler to settler, just to complete granary in 1 turn. You did use same trick with PH mine and max overflow from warrior in your sim. Everything else is similar: grow CM to size#5 in 3 turns, put another turn and chop into settler on T54, whip 2pop on T55, Settler on T56, Granary on T57.

- Yes. Stanford starts warrior and switch to granary on T54, complete granary on T57 and finish warrior after. Stanford grow to size2 on T59 and keep growing fast with granary help. Warriors should stay at current position for some time (T54-T55) before Stanford borders expand and we don't need 'Dave' (on wheat) to spawnbust on wheat anymore.

Diplo situation.
Well, I still think we should start negotiation NAP or maybe even borders agreement with CareBears right now. It would be perfect if we agree to NAP till T80 (M&M has same timing with India), but CareBears could smell something if we ask them NAP till T80 specifically.
Our timing for copper isn't good, we need that NAP.

Another thing, we put our EP on M&M(our long term ally) right now instead of India(could be our worst enemy). It make sense to talk about NAP right now. Maybe talk about borders agreement as well.
As much as I'd like to put EP back on CareBears, we can't do it before secure longer NAP with them and knowing their level of agression in settling toward us.

Lets ask them for longer NAP (I'd guess they agree) and ask would they be interested in talking about border agreement (I'd guess they don't).
