[SPOILERS] Team EggHeads: DMOC and TeddyKGB (Now Lurker-Friendly!)

Yep, ok. I doubt it'll work, but maybe Asterix's influence on GG is big enough.

I'd like Dinos build another plantation faster, but there is much likely Rome's attack on them.
And I dont remember Silk's location there, but maybe Rome could pillage/take both sources after attack on DT.

Small correction on the Spice plan:
I'm thinking of moving 2 more workers in the area, so timing for spices should be - t121, t122 and t123.
After that workers could help improve Dye.
One worker will keep roading dye, so its 6 workers total in the area.
Not sure about IW timing, probably t123-124.

We could start trading Spice on t121, sadly it seem SutOxy will be the only option at this time.

Another question, what to build in UWash next turn? Options are:
- GLh for failed gold. It slightly better than wealth and I could ask Arki about his timing on GLh.
- Military units. We got barracks here and a lot of hammers.
- Library.
- Hindu temple.
- Missionary for western cities.
- Anything else?

What do you think?

Hope their silk is safe. I sent them another message giving them some more specific turn timings; awaiting a response.

(1) Worker plan -- I can't check the game so I'll trust your judgement on this one. 6 seems a lot but we'll need at least 2 of them near the dyes area due to the jungle that's there anyway. I can't remember -- can we still make a plantation on the dyes, or do we need Iron Working first? Or is it that we can definitely make the plantation there and chopping the jungle just gives us extra food? I'm just curious about the fastest way we can get the dyes happiness.

(2) If SutOxy is the only team we can trade, then let's not help them out any further. One thing we might do is ask Blame Caledorn if we can do a furs/spices trade. They only have one furs, so it's like we're getting an extra happiness for free while they remain neutral. They might be willing to do it, perhaps we can add in a 3 gpt incentive?

(3) Washington ... we do have a lot of options here, and I'm honestly not sure which one seems best. Of the options you listed, I'd be fine with axemen, temple, or missionary. Axemen if Rome moves their troops near us? We may need to wait and see what Rome does on turn 119 first. if there's no sign of their troops, I think a missionary to Wisconsion would be good.

(4) Other point -- Stanford has enough food surplus to work the 2 riverside tundra flatlands. Do you think cottaging those two tiles is worth it?

(1) We also need to chop granary there for new city. Can't build farms but maybe 1-2 cottages so far. We can't buil plantation before IW. Remove jungle is 4t job. Road will be ready soon.

(2) Ok, I'll ask Yos.

(3) I suppose Rome will move on DT soon. They retreat sentry chariot from our borders, so I think thats some indication GG prepaire to attack soon.

(4) Ok. I'll put worker to chop tundra for 24h next for another missionary.

T119.

Suttree got GArt this turn. It wasn't born in the MoM city, so he is finished Music already. Pretty sick.
He didn't start GAge yet, but I suppose he will before finishing turn. He probably wants to adopt Bureau before GA finished, but it seems he could research CS in 12t with his GNP.

Asterix got 2760 EP on Yuufo this turn. He might steal some more techs from India.

I put slider on 100%, as planned. We are 2nd in GNP, far behind suttree's.

Hindu spread successfully in CalTech. Next turn we'll whip settler here, finish LH and probably start missionary.

Monastery finished in GT. Sheep control at 63%. In 6t we'll expand borders to the 3rd ring and should lock Sheep tile.

Tiles and cities queue not final, I'll finish the turn later and change some. UWash just for show.

I notice that you finished the turn. What did you end up deciding on UWash, and did Rome do anything out of the ordinary? And is there anything else newsworthy?

Sorry, I'll post later.
UWash - missionary. Rome - no action. I did some tiles shuffle on CM/MIT/GT. I'll post in 3-4 hours.

Wow, reading some of the other people's comments in this game, I can pretty much tell what everyone thinks of this game.

I agree. PB14 is a disgrace to this site.

To expand on this a bit; these guys are awesome, and shouldn't be lumped with the PB14'ers at all- besides Yossarian nobody in that mess is reporting anything with an actual focus on, well, reporting. These guys are newbies, sure, but I like the cuts of their collective jibs.

rolleye I don't mind if people are complaining about us playing suboptimally (say so in the lurker thread, and after the game is over I'll check it and make a note for myself), but if Commodore and others don't like our reporting style, why don't they actually tell us? I don't think any lurker has asked us to post anything specific. We don't have to follow it if we don't want to, but it at least gives us a general guide of what a lurker would be interested in. If people are complaining about the length of this thread, then that's why I have a table of contents link in the first post that will lead people directly to a time of their interest.

Edit: Interesting, still no action from Rome? Say, I wonder what an optimal player would have done with Rome as a neighbor ... one amusing thought I had was to join a future full-diplo game (unlikely to happen though) with optimal players and play just as Rome has played, i.e. nothing but praet after praet.

Edit 2: Was the plan to whip the settler in Caltech? I notice no score decrease from us in Civstats.

If you are reading other threads from other games on this site, you can probably get a sense from the popular threads with a large number of posts and a large ratio of views to posts, what the preferred reporting style is. (A small number of posts with a lot of associated views, or a lot of posts with relatively few views, is not necessarily indicative of a good thread, but a combination of both usually is..)

Generally, lurkers want to see what your plans are, what your rationale for making those plans is, how you are implementing your plans, and how the results of your planning turns out in practice. If you can do that while being (a) funny, and/or (b) cool (by incorporating sufficiently neat bonus stuff like maps, stories, etc.), and/or ( c ) awesome (i.e. your plans are actually good plans & well-executed, or minimally, better than rival plans) then that also helps.

Of particular note, lurkers are almost always interested in blood, i.e. warfare. Hence, I imagine that some lurkers consider games with extended NAP-fests between most or all of the players to be a bit of a snoozer.

So, ours posts was uninformative. We were speaking about Hamburgers and other shit.
