Okay, here's what I've managed to retrieve from the chats with luddite so far. These are the parts that are relevant to his relations with mackoti. Good looking over this again actually, as on a second glance it actually looks like he may not be concentrating as much as I thought on settling towards Mackoti after all. Then again, he hasn't mentioned settling towards us since the agreed policy of "tell us if you're thinking of settling east of that Horse chokepoint", so I'm not expecting him to try anything funny with us. He won't be building a whole lot of Settlers that soon anyway, since he's got a few wonders to be concentrating on.

Wines can't be more than 10 or so tiles from your capital
and south, not west

It's still slightly possible you don't share a coast if you haven't found their borders yet

Lord Parkin: If you're really worried, we can always talk about making them an early target for our combined army we talked about earlier. Makes sense to take them out before Dikes anyway, and I'm certainly open to the option of fighting them later due to their sneaky opening diplo with me.And if they happen to get the Great Lighthouse as they mentioned they might, so much more the incentive to go after them.
Anyway, just a thought to consider, no need to decide anything anytime soon
