Really? I have seen a bit of talk in previous PBEMs about 'so I did not select a tech' but haven't figured out how that would work. At least in SP the interface constantly re-prompts you to the point where you have to at least select a placeholder tech just to see where you're at. Any forthcoming info about how to nullify a tech selection (short of merely setting research to 0%)is appreciated, otherwise I can haul my ass over to the greenies thread anyway.
Also I've read something else here (dunno if tongue in cheek) where someone said by not selecting a turn-0 tech you miss out on '1 beaker'. Which kinda gels with the whole 'free hammer per turn' concept, presumably to avoid divide by zero complications in the coding.
Last, I looked at Krillblog due to your link and will likely follow it while you don't post here. Agree with judicious use of city-screens (and demos), however they're nice to have to go back to if you want to analyse later. S'pose you can spoiler-tag or collapse on your nifty wordpress blog?
