Yes, I do. This is why people shouldn't write quickly.
Wetbandit seems to basically be kicking Azza's ass, so it is nice to know I'm not the only one getting whomped.
Chevrolet will take 1T to whip a Spear, so it ultimately comes down to if my Axe beats his Axe, as if it does, I can whip a Spear OR possibly just kill the Chariot with my axe...actually, I think the Spear might be a turn late, since it only occurs at EOT...still, hopefully my Combat I Axe defends vs. the Chariot, then my CII/Shock Axe can defend against the opposing Axe. Though really, if we lose this city, it is more than 100% my fault, as I should have considered this when Wolseley was attacked and waited a turn to revolt to Hereditary Rule, wherein we would have a Spear this turn. Or I could have not whipped the Settler by thinking/considering about this.
In short, I fucked up and I am paying the price. I suppose that is why it is a learning experience (And why I am not that great of a player! Well, okay, there's a lot of reasons for that last one...)
On the homefront...Walton whips a Settler, Standard Oil whips an Axe, we can found a Spear defended and then Axe + Spear defended (And more will be coming in!) Wolseley pretty fast...I am pretty sure BoldXenuBrick will want peace after whatever happens at Chevrolet (They can't defend our core cities from WilliamLP and it leaves them open to a boat attack of our own), so it might be possible to recoup the losses at least some. Vanderbilt finishes a Hindu Missionary in 2T, then will whip a Spear for garrison (And to have an Axe + Spear defense combo) which will overflow to finish a Missionary quick while boosting the happy cap. Depending on how fast the city grows, this may happen a few times after the whip anger ends each time.
I most certainly think we need to go culture here. I could really use some help on what, exactly, I should be tech focusing on or building, either from a friendly lurker or BaII when he returns: Tech up to Music, then Feudalism/Construction? What should I build in the meantime? And I just realized my GA calculations didn't consider building the National Epic in the capital...
For now, my plan looks like Mathematics -> Currency -> Code of Laws -> Aesthetics -> Literature -> Music, then back to Drama, Construction -> Feudalism, assuming no aggressive acts in our direction. Then shut off science, turn on break-even culture, pump out GAs...
Perhaps Philosophy might be of some use...would the Great Artists we get extra pay for it, I wonder? Reminds me, my old GA amounts were flawed, I forgot to take into account how GPP requirements go up...I'll recalc soon.
It'd great if we could pull off a comeback victory from this.
