Yeah, let's talk about this:

As said above, rather than just rely on myself to stop doing this, I set up a script which will throw me out of the server after a period of no more than 2 hours, even if I do forget again.
I honestly do not intend to be harsh/mean here, but it needs to be said: there's no reason for this at all. I've had something come up before during a turn play, and it takes me 3 seconds maximum to hit "exit to main menu" and walk away. Then as soon as I'm reasonably able, I'll log back in and complete the turn. There's no reason to walk away from the computer while still logged into a pitboss - especially at this phase of the game where it just takes a few seconds to log in to begin with. Especially when you seem to have sporadic connectivity issues. General rule: just don't do this ever. Please.

The turns are not complicated right now. If it's taking hours to handle 1-3 cities and < half dozen units, how long will the logins be when you're fighting wars with hundreds of units? I'm kind of terrified of what might happen to the game pace when we get there

Side note: if it's at all possible, Bacchus/retep really ought to consider swapping in your turn order. Retep obviously can play very quickly, so it makes sense for him to play and leave the rest of the timer to Bacchus.
