At the same time you're right that we can't cripple our snowball for the sake of peace of mind. Two not-immediately-helpful comments from this: I kinda do wish whoever it is to the south of suttree would take this opportunity to attack him, so we could get some heat off of us and security till we reach medieval units, and perhaps we need to start thinking about how soon we can get the HE for constant unit production in one city without impairing the rest. What's our highest-XP unit, and what's a realistic timeframe on teching Literature and building the thing? Is this a reasonable goal given our other priorities?
Sure, it would be nice thing to be completely safe, which we indeed aren't.. I admit! This kind of balancing between military and economy is a tricky thing..
I have mixed feeling about the coming turn. I kind of want suttree to move in. If we would use that GG, our first 5 fights would have odds and if our RNG luck is decent that stack becomes immediately a non-threat. On the other hand that extra barb axe brings some pressure and some extra time to heal Hydra+Mero to full health would be nice.. Well, it's not in our hands..

Because of our Philo beeline, Literature probably needs to wait a bit. Unless we want to tech Aesthetics + Literature + Drama instead of CoL and try to grab the music artist. It would also be nice to trade marble from some of our neighbors before we build HE. E.g. plako has both stone and marble..

If suttree does not move in, let's cover our worker e.g. with yossarian+spear. If suttree moves in it all depends whether we attack his stack and are succesful. Unless our excellent rolls continue we might need Yossarian in the city and our worker needs to retreat..

I'm blaming Fintourist for this one.
Did I confuse you somehow with my non-existing knowledge?
