[Spoilers] Fintourist and Old Harry have nothing to see here

Thanks for the reminder! Honestly! thumbsup Yeah, we can't let suttree gather a force that we can't handle! However, I would claim that the situation is currently under control:
1. We have a clear enough picture of suttree's power. That pile of 6 axes should pretty much be suttree's whole military apart from couple of city defenders.
2. Especially if we don't lose that high-odds battle against the barb axe we have all the necessary means to handle that 6 axe stack if suttree advances.
3. If suttree adds more units, we have those responses that Harry described in his report. Remember that our units are also more experienced and bowmen work generally quite nicely against axes.. We also have spears in the area.. We are well equipped. For now..
4. And we have an emergency GG that we can use if the situation becomes too dangerous..

However, you are totally correct. We are not allowed to lose our focus and we have to react properly if needed. Let's assume that suttree's power grows during the next 5 turns. Yes, we probably have to add more units in that case.

We have to survive until Hastings pops borders, that's still 6 turns or something. Hastings' border pop will make everything a lot easier. Suttree can't anymore use that road NW of the axe stack for forking purposes and we can finally improve our wet corn as long as we protect our worker with a spear (some surprise galley attack to corn tile is theoretically possible too).

Also if suttree does not cover that stack with a spear we may want to build couple of chariots and see if we can start killing his axes. hammer

Some excitement on the interturn - Commodore must have got the Hanging Gardens, catapulting him into third. Why isn't he near to Pindicooter this time? cry Plako's work boat is waiting on some clams, so his borders must be about to pop. He played before us last turn so I'll log in when he's done to move the galley past. That will at least give him something to think about (according to Fintourist, who is just mean.)

mischief Very nice report and even better move from Commodore. thumbsup This a very even game with many civs in competitive position. On the other hand, there are a handful of civs that are just doing amazingly bad. With suttree, m_h and also slow & Jowy/TBSW as neighbors we will definitely get a chance for productive warfare. Assuming of course that we play our hand well during the next 50 turns. mischief

Quote:Should the worker start a mine next turn?

Probably yes, we want improved tiles for Jamestown and before Hastings pops borders we can't really improve the corn.. cry

Quote:In the west LP uncovers more land. Once we have Caste System the border pops will make these potential cities good very quickly. I want the fish/pig city where I've marked because it's tactically more useful for our navy, but it's a little way down the track.

That rice is good news! jive I think we have a fair chance to get that spot and we actually might want to settle for it before going for more eastern dyes+clams spot. Food in first-ring is winning even though we are not that far from caste artists..
Remind our workers (S of France) about this next time when they plan roading.. crazyeye

Quote:Demos - who's number one baby?

Slowly getting there.. Far away from position where we want to be, but still grinding. hammer 2 pop growths at the end of this turn, 2 more coming next turn, settler eot105. Baby steps, baby steps.. As already discussed with Harry in the chat, the prime time of AGG's maintenance benefit is coming and hopefully we can soon really start utilizing our SPI trait. Lurkers, cross your fingers for our Philosophy play! please
